Pope Benedict XVI has a twitter account. He is spreading divine wisdom 140 characters at a time. It is part of the Catholic church outreach to the youth program. After Vatican II, the Catholic church relationship to science has soften. Now they use technology to save our soul. His twitter account is among the fastest growing accounts in twitter. It makes sense considering how many Catholics are out there in the world.




This whole getting into technology was brought into the Catholic Church by Pope John Paul II. He was an expert at attracting a young crowd into the Catholic church. The Church cannot survive without appealing to the next generation. As such, Pope John Paul had a facebook account. Following his footsteps, Pope Benedict XVI got into the web.
