Nisekoi Anime Spring 2013 Review

Nisekoi is a Romeo and Juliet like anime show. However, the feud is between two mafias. One is the Eastern, Yakuza. The other are the Western gangsters, aka the Bee Hive. They are about to go on a all out war. However, war is bad for business. To maintain peace, they have one representative of each group become pals. This is were Raku Ichijo, of the Yakuza, and Chitoge Kirisaki, half Japanese Half American blondy of the Bee hive, come in. Their families want them to play couple as long as they are in High School. The problem is that Ichijo likes Onodera Kosaki.



This forced partnership is ruining Ichijo's chances with Kosaki. Plus, there is the fact that they both mutually hate each others' guts. They grew up hating each others' groups. Now, they are forced to get along. Here is the rough overview of the plot. The first episode was a bit over the top.That Kirisaki is such a riot. Well, she is a representative of the Americans. This anime show lets out all the tensions between the East and the West.

Then again, Nisekoi is a romantic comedy. The irony is that Ichijo wanted to avoid taking care of the Yakuza. Thus, since he was not into mafia wars, they made him the center of this truce. Thus, he helps his clan without getting into some dirty business. Interesting enough, both anime characters participated in a Romeo and Juliet play. I guess it was part of the mangaka artist's twisted sense of humor. Don't worry there is actually a happy ending in this story. In any case, Nisekoi the new Spring 2013 anime show deserves 5 stars rating.
