Helter Skelter
When I get to the bottom I go back to the top of the slide
Where I stop and I turn and I go for a ride
Till I get to the bottom and I see you again.
Do, don't you want me to love you
I'm coming down fast but I'm miles above you
Tell me, tell me, tell me, come on tell me the answer
You may be a lover but you ain't no dancer.
Helter skelter, helter skelter
Helter skelter.
Will you, won't you want me to make you
I'm coming down fast but don't let me break you
Tell me, tell me, tell me the answer
You may be a lover but you ain't no dancer.
Look out
Helter skelter, helter skelter
Helter skelter.
Look out 'cause here she comes.
When I get to the bottom I go back to the top of the slide
Where I stop and I turn and I go for a ride
Till I get to the bottom and I see you again.
Well do you, don't you want me to love you
I'm coming down fast but don't let me break you
Tell me, tell me, tell me the answer
You may be a lover but you ain't no dancer.
Look out
Helter skelter, helter skelter
Helter skelter.
Look out helter skelter
She's coming down fast.
Yes she is.
Yes she is
[I've got blisters on my fingers]
Helter Skelter Song Lyrics and Meaning
Helter Skelter was written by Paul McCartney. However, the
credit went to John Lennon. It is part
of The Beatles White Album. The title
means disorderly and haste. I must say
that Helter Skelter truly is disorderly and hasty. McCartney had read that The
Who had made a loud song. This was his attempt to outdo The Who band. Plus, he wanted to show that he could write
something other than a ballad. I must say that he accomplished his goal. The
Music of Helter Skelter has many heavy metal elements.
The lyrics of the song are quite cryptic. Over the top,
Helter Skelter describes a spiraling in an amusement park. It seems to describe to kids going up and
down the ride. The next stanza gives the song hot connotations. The next stanza
returns to Helter Skelter ride. Following the ride design, the song goes on a
full circle. The second half of the song is similar to the first. However,
there are some alterations here and there. The changes are in a Jazz sense. Slowly,
the song becomes more aggressive.
My favorite part of the lyrics is the chorus of “Helter Skelter”
. I like those lines and the “Aaa” screaming lines. Those random “Aaa” lines became a key element
in metal. The solo truly is not half bad. After the lyrics, the music keeps
going for like 2 minutes. It ends with Ringo Star complaining about his
blisters. This ending is really funny.
You know, I played this song in Rock Band. Even in easy, it was a bit over the
top. It tires you. I can only imagine how it feels to play the real Helter Skelter
drum. Thinking about it, Lyric wise, Helter
Skelter also resembles metal songs. It
really is quite the strange song. Anyhow, this song deserves 5 star rating.
