The Beatles
The Beatles came to the US as part of the British Invasion
wave. During the old days, the United States was the major exporter of music
and movies. All they produced was top notch quality. This all changed when the
Beatles came into existence. They put all the American rock bands to shame. They revolutionized what it means to be a
musician. Even today, many bands draw inspiration from The Beatles. The original band leaders were Paul McCartney
and John Lennon. They picked up George
Harrison and Ringo Star later on. The fifth member of the band is George
Martin. He created the unique Beatles sound.
For many years, the Beatles maintained Hegemony of the music
industry worldwide. They made sang to all four corners of the world. They sang
as far as the Terrible Soviet Union, and the Democratic Japan. They conquered the language barrier. Their
music was Esperanto to the world. All who heard their songs understood their
message of Love and Peace. When the drums of war were sounding across the reaches
of the world, they alone sang songs of freedom and Justice for all. Ok, maybe I
am exaggerating a little.
They stood up for the little guy. Despite their loving
message, that did not stop evil from taking John Lennon. About 2500 years ago, a man burned the temple
of Zeus to become famous. Following his example, on December 8th
1980, Mark David Chapman shot Lennon in the back four times. The sad thing is that Lennon had signed for
Chapman the “Double Fantasy” album. We lost a great man that day. My only
regret was that I was not able to meet Lennon…
I first came acquainted
with their music via the Rock Band The Beatles Xbox Game. That game fueled my love for the band. Now, I
listen to them on a regular basis. From all their songs, I like best “Helter Skelter
“and “I am the Walrus”. Those songs are top notch and quite different from one
another. I also remember that Cirque du Soleil did a tribute to The Beatles. It’s
too bad that Yoko had to sour up “Come Together”. Then again, it’s not the
first time she crashes a Beatles party. Overall, only Paul McCartney is still
active in the music industry. In any case, The Beatles Rock Band is 5 star worthy.
