Meditations on Yuno Gasai
I been watching a lot of Mirai Nikki this past few months. From all the characters, I like Yuno Gasai the best. I have notice that the entire Mirai Nikki show is centered on Yuno. Yuno is the strange, stoker girlfriend of the main character, Yukki.Yuno's future diary has the power to tell her everything about Yukki.. It is thanks to her that Yukki has managed to survive Deus's game.
It is not too uncommon for the main characters to be idiots. We see the world through the ignorant eyes of Yukki, Yuno's lover. I guess this is done in order to appeal to the anime watcher audience. There is really nothing special about Yukki (despite being Deus favorite apotheosis candidate).
Now, Yuno (Murumuru's favorite candidate) , that's a different story. For starters, her name is freaking awesome. It is a mistranslation of Juno, aka Hera, the crazed wife of Zeus. Like Zeus, Yukki is always flirting with disaster. More than once he has gotten too close to other girls (and a boy that was so yaoi for him). From such close encounters all he has received is the crazy treatment from Yuno.
What baffles me is the mystery of the third skull. Well, Yuno was very happy when she saw that Yukki's mother and father where good. Had they been evil she would have sliced and diced them. You know, Yukki's father is now on Yuno's death list (ever since he tried to destroy Yukki's diary to escape dept. I think he even slew his ex wife). It seems the third skull that she left behind the deep whole was that of her sibling (perhaps, her good twin).
Its interesting how the presentation depicts Yuno as two faced. One day she is kind, the other she goes psychotic. Well, she is like other people who suffer psychosis. As long as they stay within a familiar parameter they are functional members of society. However, if something disturbs their routine then they fall of the wagon.
You remember? The same thing happened in Alfred Hitchcock's Psychosis. The moment that the mother got a boyfriend, her son slew them both. He was too used to me and my mama. I guess for Yuno, the third skull was the third wheel in the perfect relationship she had with her mother and father. Then again, perhaps her parents are the evil ones. After all, psychosis is hereditary.
Battle wise, that sweet two faced Yuno is an expert at using the knife. She obtained it from the first dairy user that she slew with Yukki's help. It is well chronicle that crazy people have an insanely amount of strength. Well, insanity is after all an imbalance in the chemicals in the brain. Perhaps, this imbalance helps the crazy tap into the full potential of their physical bodies. Its like the removal of all limitations (for better or for worse).
Aside from the knife (and sometimes an ax), she has great analytical powers. Its strange how when she focuses she looses consciousnesses. Its like she focus all her energies into coming up with the right answer. You remember? She used her focus power in that episode where she stabbed the lil kid with the puppets.
That Yuno is truly merciless. Her behavior reminds me a bit of amok. A person suffering from "amok" focuses on their goal and ignores the rest. They tend to kill anyone who stands in their way. For Yuno, her target is Yukki's heart and her "happy ending" .
Its quite interesting the types of emotions that Yuno inspires. She is really cute, on her "good" days. When she is sad, she inspires pity. However... other times she is just plain scary. I noticed that most crazy girls in anime have pink hair. Following this format, the crazed Yuno has the loveliest pink hair.
As you can see, there are many attributes that makes Yuno a 5 star worthy anime character. She is a model for all mangaka artist to follow should they desire to make someone look and act real crazy. I hope that you like my Yuno blog. Good day, and good night...
