Fullmetal Alchemist and Brotherhood
In the first version the Elric brothers battle the evil Dante. The name Dante is taken from the Divine Comedy. Like hell and the seven sins there are 7 homunculi. In both shows, the general thesis expostulated is that there is no way to bring someone back to life. It is impossible to give a life for a life. In Brotherhood, the homunculi are actually pumped up humans that are possessed by the general sentiment that inhabits each individual philosopher stone. This concept of the philosopher stone ( or egg) was created by the medieval alchemist.
Today in modern days we know (at least I hope) that it takes far too much energy to add protons to turn lead into gold. In the Hunchback of Nortre Dame,I learned that alchemist used to believe that gold was compressed light. If one traps light underground and waited 8000 yrs light turns into gold. This alchemist show combines the old myths of alchemy with modern chemistry laws.I have a strange theory... I think that in brotherhood the reason that god and Hoenheim look alike is because they are Elric brothers from another dimension.These folks from the regular full metal alchemist created the philosopher stone.Now the last bastion is the portal of truth. And yeah... either the elder or the younger did an Eudipidus with his other dimensional mother. All signs point to the eldest.
Regardless...both shows get a 5 Star Rating.
Yu Yu Hakusho
This show has lain the foundations for shows like Bleach or Kekaishi (based on Bleach and Inuyasha) or Mirage of Blaze . This show has a mixture of spiritual aspects like Bleach however the fighting style resembles that of Dragon ball Z. Then again both shows are contemporary. Anyhow, there are some aspects that are unique to this show. This appears in the form of the Fox thief reincarnation into a human. He used to be evil and disdainful of his human parents but in time he grew to love and care for them (especially his "mother'). This shows the civilizing role of parents in turning a feral child (or a fox thief) into a useful member of society. The final episodes where a bit bizarre and hard to recollect so I shall abstain from offering my opinion on them. Needless to say, that this show displays a transition on what an anime about fighting is supposed to be about.
If you take that into consideration you will realize the importance of Yu yu Hakusho and why it deserves a 5 star rating.
Bleach
Well, to be honest I stopped watching Bleach after my favorite boy died. He has such wonderful deep set green eyes. A lustrous short spicky black hair...sensual lips...Nahh, I am Just being melodramatic. We all know him by the name of Ulquiorra but I always used to call him Buquiorra. I do not know his name simply sounded like bu instead of Ul. I always wondered why a tough looking esparda served a weakling like Isen.
Have you guys noticed the obsession that the create of this show has with Spanish words. I mean esparda for example means sword in Spanish. Chad fist "La Muerte" means THE Death. Well as some English speakers might not know death is identified with a chick. "La" is the feminine "the" that is put before things that are of girlish nature.
Anyhow...the battles on this show seem to last an eternity. The storyline only serves as an occasion for more fighting. I truly dislike its random flashbacks. The worst I ever saw was the flashback of "The Walking Man". Who is this man you ask ...well he is Byakuya Kuski. I called him the walking man because he killed Ichigo by just walking beside him. It is a good nickname and it suits him rather well.
Anyhow, in this flashback he spoke of his duty and his love for Rukya's older sister and his duty to the soul society. I do not know but...duty is something I do not believe in. One should only be dutiful when it suits one's purposes. I am not telling you to be jerks, just not to abandon one's family member to unjust laws. Now letting one's adopted sister die...now that is despicable indeed.
Anyhow, due to common misconception I must give this anime show...if I can call it such...a 5 Star Rating.
Pokemon
Ahh...I remember when I was seven I used to watch this show a lot. Then when I was ten I asked myself ...Why is Ash Catchem still only 10 yrs of age? Frankly, if I wanted to watch a show about an ageless character I would have put on Mnemosyne. And for that reason I stopped watching it after the orange Island. From that season on began the degradation of Pokemon. I remember that for a while (when I was 8) I used to think the Pokemon where little demons of sorts. I kept wondering where all the animals had immigrated off to. Then I realized that in that alternate world the Pokemon are the animals. After I realized that this show lost all its charm. I a fury of anger took my stock hold of Pokemon cards and did a miny bond fire in my garbage can. Later, I came to regret it when I realized that I could have sold some of the rare ones for 15 bucks a piece. That being said I wasted a lot of good money on nothing.
Even if now I despise Pokemon, I own my drawing abilities to it. I first began to draw by sketching Pokemon that I saw in the TV show and in my Pokemon cards. As time passed I moved onto bigger fishes. I started to sketch yugioh cards ( and then my brother's baseball cards). Only recently, did I became skilled enough in order to draw from my abyss original characters.
Anyhow...I must give it a 5 Star rating to the show from 1st episode to the orange islands.
Naruto Shinpudden
I do not know what to say of Naruto. It is basically a show about a ninjas fighting each other. There are a lot of characters killed here and there. I knew from the very beginning that Itachi was a good person. His murder did not fit his character. well you all already know what this is about. Come and watch this show on our website. Episodes are a week ahead over most webpages.
This show gets 5 Stars. Though really there is nothing to say about it. There are a lot of cutesy flashbacks and it talks much of the horrors of war and how violence breeds more violence...
I would state a new idea that has just passed by but ...It is best if I refrain. Regardless for all who are not dense about what Jeraya tried to do ...I think it sounds a bit like corn syrup. Regardless this is a metaphor to the chaos that was in china before it became a unified nation. I think there is some tribalism here and there. Also genocide appears in the destruction of the Uchiha clan.
A big deal in the story is the theme of lost of innocence and the concept of outcast. This appears in the childhood of Naruto and Sasuke's childhood trauma.
The Money of Soul and the Possibility of control
This among the best first episodes I have ever seen. This show displays in a bizarre sureal fashion how titan bankers does business. It begins with a desperate man trying out random credit cards. His last resort card has a Jewish star on it. From it he starts withdrawing 666 yens. However, to pay it back he must defeat in the Business district the main banker. The problem is that he has many agents and credit cards. Thus, he loses all his money and thus kills himself by jumping in front of a train.
From here it jumps to a sophomore in the school of economics. He works par time in the nightshirt and the girl he likes is fitly rich just like her boyfriend. One day while he is studying the a banker comes to his house to invest in his future. He seems the like the physical manifestation of a student loan. With such a loan you can avoid working plus you can have a lot of fun. The problem is that you end up paying it one thousand fold in the future.
Anyhow, he accepts the loan from the banker. When his goes to check his account he sees the grand sum of 500,000 yens. His pals had been asking to go play Kegger (whatever that his) but it cost 10,000 yens. His bank account originally had only 8000 yens. Before he withdrew this account the teller machine asked him 'are you certain/ You could work hard and grow lil by lil by?" But in the end he took the easy way out. Thus, he received his credit card, by looking through it he was able to see the physical manifestation of his investments (or a demon girl). Thus before heading out he was taken to the business district to pit his skills against the main banker.
Truly this wonderful new anime show deserves a nice 5 star rating. Truly this is a must watch anime show.
Infinite Stratos
Today I shall rate the process of infinite Stratos a third time around. As I said before, my first impression of this show was a bit disappointing. It seemed to be a stupid Jap teen melodrama. Heck, I though they should rename this show Ichika and all his girlfriends. That I must say was my first impression. I am glad I gave the show a second chance.
After meditating this over hundreds of times I came to the conclusion that it must be really hard to introduce characters. Heck an episode or two had to wasted per character. It is a good thing that they were smart enough to give a good battle in between. However, human relations wise this is not my personal favorite show. But do not take my word for it. I am after all a war monger. I just love anime war over anime love.
Speaking of which, let us introduce Ichika and all his lovers. Aside from all the chick students the main ones that one should be payed attention to are Cecilia, Houkin, Ling Yin, Charles (or Charlotte or char) and Laura Boldewig. Each of these bizarre anime girls are the physical manifestations and odd moods of the country from which they hail. Cecilia is a total princess like the British. Houkin embodies the dignity of the Japanese Samurais. Ling Yin carries within her the ambitions of china. Charles like the french just wants love, love, and will perform any underhanded trick to get the man she wants. Laura like the Germans is straight forward and soldierly like, and a bit awkward in normal situations.
Another thing that is a big deal in this show is food. So many feeding Frenzies. Heck these characters go insane for having Ichika feed them. I truly do not see what the big deal is. Perhaps I am not a romantic about food, but if you are not eating cherries and whip cream then the feeding scene sorta falls apart. Here above, you see the moment that Houkin receives the food from Ichika. She does look rather shy don't cha think. But still those feeding scenes are not my cup of tea.
Speaking of Which of food Lin's family used to own a restaurant. From all the chicks she is the only one who cooks half decently without exerting a lot of effort. Cecilia's sandwiches taste terrible. Houkin had to make a lot of bad plates to make a decent one. Charles made some decent cold turkey here and there. If Ichika wanted to get a good housewife Ling seems perfect for the part. All of the other chicks are insane.
Well believe it or not. This show is about Robots or units. Some time is spent on describing the units. In the first episode we learned that the units are alive and whatever. There is only a set number of units because the one who makes the core sorta disappeared. It is for this reason that personal units are only given to people of importance. So only Ichika and his girlfriends have a personal unit. They are important in their own unique ways. Charles represents the 2nd generation IS unit company. Ichika is the only male to have a unit. Cecilia is the representative of Britain, Ling of China, and Laura of Germany. Houkin only recently in episode 10 received a personal 4th generation unit from her sister because she is so so cute.
Another thing that annoyed me a bit was the beach scene. All the beach cliches were packed into one episode. We saw the rubbing oil gig, the drowning damsel, and beach volleyball. As you can see above this was just a gist of episode 9. not my personal favorite. I am not a skin lover... heck even bro could not put up with this cliche. We decided to skip such non chellat scenes from now on.
Speaking of non chelat. The following episode was terrible for about half of it. It was a good thing that Houkin's sister showed up. She brought forth Houkin's very pretty 4th generation unit. She made it especially for Houkin to defeat the blue 3rd generation unit of Ichika. It is a very swift and has a cute red wave sword attack. That is just about all that was seen of the unit.
It seems that the main issue in IS and in most other anime shows is that the US units always malfunction. In Infinite Stratos the second unit to go rouge was made by both the US and Israel. This show does love to portray geo politics in their personages and events. Anyhow, here we see that the US and Israel are real tight but since you are in this anime site you obviously do not care much for politics. Which is a good thing. Politics is so boring. enough, onto more interesting units.
So we were discussing the final episode that I watched. Well, Infinite Stratos likes to end episodes with the annoucement of a battle, plus they start episodes with a battle. It is a good strategy. It keeps you wanting to watch more. It does great wonder to keep you watching more episodes. but alas, their weakness is non chelat. It is thanks to those good battles that I still bothering to watch this show. In conclusion this show gets a 4 star fury rating, -1 because of the stupid non chelat.
Beelzebub
I am truly quite perplexed about this anime show. The RAW version is completely different from the English sub version. The characters are still the same , however, the beginning and the presentation differ greatly. The RAW presentation just sings all over the place RAW RAW RAW HERE GOES THE BABY BEELZEBUB. Another difference is that the Ogre has a best pal to which he tells the story of how he found baby Beelzebub. One has to wonder were the hell did good anime dug up the raw version of the first episode of Beelzebub RAW episode.
Well, the real first episode starts with an epical battle between the Ogre and his class mates. But before the battle begins the lil baby gets on top of his head and pees on him. then they fight and the lil baby cries and his tantrum creates electricity. Basically, the story is about a high school bully who Beelzebub chooses as his new dad. Now Ogre and the baby's nanny must raise the Demon Lord. The problem was that the demon lord could not find time to kill the human raze so he sent his brat to do his dirty work.Thus, Beelzebub will one day grow up to eradicate humanity. The battles are intense and well choreograph. Plus, this anime show has an odd sense of humor.

The Big O
One has to wonder about such a silly name. However, the big O is a programing notation that is used to calculate how often a program will run. So see there is some logic to their madness. The style of drawings is like the old anime cartoons from the 50s. It is a blend of Regular anime and the marvel people. The simplified shading bears witness to this style.
The Robot Big O may appear simplified however his movement Mechanized is quite realistic. It basically runs on clock work and hydrolysis. Thus, his major blow uses pumped pressure in order to give it an extra boots. Clock work and steam was the most advanced technology that was common in the 20s (which is the time that this show supposedly takes place). Well the time period of that show varies for the people have lost all their memories 40 years ago. At times highly advanced things come into the scene. For example, the other main character is an android...a being that does not exist in this world.
I find it rather interesting the back and forth of reality and illusion. IT seems that in the moment that the character Roger Smith was about to be deleted he was conversing with his creator Big Venus. He summons her up in the her book form Angel. It seems as fi the show was able to continue for a season or two. It did not get canceled.
Yet in a weird fashion, the Big O began in the first format it began. It showed all the principal characters and the Roger alone in his old car talking to himself in a whole narrator format. Truly, aside from random flashbacks, a book character has no idea who or what they are.
Without memories one would easily adapt to the role that others has chosen for you. After all, routine is impossible to eradicate. Thus, without memories one would be able to perform one's old job. when I speak of memory loss I do not refer to Alzheimer. Rather it is a global amnesia. It has been show, that humans can function rather well even should they lose their memory. In time, practice and the memory called Skill , kicks in and then they are able to perform their old job.
People, the true memory one should prize is skill. Without it one will not be able to even work a pencil properly. Anyhow, this Big O anime show deserves a nice 5 star rating.
Demon Lord Dante
This is one of the few old anime shows that I actually like. It seems to be the beginning of the giant demons anime shows. The designs of the demons are rather primitive. But with the demon lord we see a turning away from the omi and the animal demons to a more chimeric, fantastic demon. We see the brain demons, the snake demons and the regular Lucifer dragon like demon. The Demon Lord is actually a male succubus. In the modern anime culture the female succubi has completely swallowed up in popularity the male succubus. But people there was at a time both male and female succubus. Or perhaps he is an incubus demon. Either way, do not fall asleep with one next to you , unless if you wish to father a half breed.
Anyhow, this demon Lord Dante anime show deserves a nice 5 star rating.
Tenjou Tenge
This is one of the few shows that I liked but my bro despised. But luckily for you my fellow readers I am the one writing the review. Well here it goes. This anime show is about a fighting academy club. The main characters include two soul brother and sister. It seems like the brother has the devil or some other major demon inside of him. The whole point is that all those who fight against him (at best) come out of it paralyzed from the neck downward. Anyhow, the sister of this crazed fellow falls in love with a cute blue haired kid. But the problem is that his brother becomes super Jealous and does this weird key that will kill her boyfriend. So the technique is that he has only 10 seconds to win a battle before his heart goes pop and he drops dead like some common maggot.
Anyhow, this weird anime show is truly one of my personal favorite even if my poor bro does not like it... so then it deserves 5 star rating.
Midori no Hibi
Unlike the previous two animes that I have discussed this one I actually saw all the way through. In this anime show a girl who goes into a comma wakes up in the form of the left hand of the boy she likes. Yeah...It is sorta weird. His hand becomes a random girl that had a crush on him. In one of the episodes the roles are reversed. In this show, both learn to cope with their new condition and try to undo the spell or the curse that has befallen both of them. It is truly a cute love story (one of the few that I actually enjoyed). I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I did. Do not worry!! It is not 100 episodes of ifs and maybes and whatnot. It is only twelve beautiful episodes long.
This one gets a 5 Star Rating.
