What westerners forget is that Japanese humor is a bit unlike our humor. Still they have mastered rather well many universal jokes. Universal jokes are those that applied to all life experiences they range from misunderstanding jokes to physical comedy. The most common are the offended jokes. In this falls under the physical comedy gig. Here an anime character gropes a hot girl and she sends him flying with her upper cut. There are other variations of these pervy jokes but the result still remains the same.
The second most popular jokes are family jokes. In anime they come in the form of a very angry dad glaring at a skinny boy asking for his daughter hand in marriage. This appeals mostly to Japanese and Asian experience. In their society boys still have to ask the family's permission to marry. If their union harms the family (despite how much they love one another) there still lies a great chance that they will not marry. Unlike the rest of the world, marriage is a big deal ,I am not talking about arranged marriages or whatever. Rather if the dumb kid cannot handle his money or if he has many bad habits there is a great chance that the dad is gonna say no no.The comedy occurs when the husband is not to the liking of the old man. Then the kid gets tragedy. Other variations include the old man forcing the boy to take responsibility for getting a girl knocked up. In all cases however, it is the anime guy that suffers.
Moving along... the next popular gag are anime growing up. These anime jokes shows all the cruel realities of leaving childhood behind. Some include kids finally realizing that their best pal is really hot. Others include young boys meeting a super hot adult person and feeling kinda stupid for proposing to her. The girl variations are of a different nature. While the boys are taught restraint, the girls are taught how to behave like ladies. In the growing up chick jokes variations, we see a cute tom boy not fitting in and betting other boys up in a not so girly fashion for making fun of her. These jokes are meant to ease the stress and frustration of young anime otakus that are well on their way to becoming functional members of society.
The last and final jokes are those about love. The most popular include the naive honest boy with an army of super hot anime girls chasing after him. This is the main gig in the infinite stratos anime show. The second of this nature include the efforts of a shy girl to win the attention of an insane bad boy. These are mostly seen in the Hinata x Naruto scenes. Other variates include an army of boyfriend x girlfriend jokes. Newly wed, jokes are rare but also spicy around the edges. Above all, the rarest and the best jokes are those of sleeping together, and when I say sleeping by the gods I mean just sleeping, not the other thing.
Overall you should keep the jokes fresh and original, do not make the same mistake as asura crying. After 20 episodes boob jokes and luck jokes get kinda old (especially if it is a repetition of the same scene over and over). Trust me, a joke does have the power to get kinda old. If you run out of ideas , make anime version of your favorite jokes. By combining all the above you will make an anime show that is hilarious.
Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo
One has to wonder what the hell was wrong with the guy that created this sick and twisted anime show. By the gods, it so freaking bizarre... a warrior that fights with his nose hair... a guy that shoots gas balls and an odd pink Beuty girl. Let see, Bobobo is a warrior of justice that has a huge afro (golden mind you). His is the only man that stands between the empire of Bald the 4th. Bald is out to turn the entire it baldies just like him. Anyoe who stands against his role gets a hair cut.
Ha, ha , ha . I just noticed. Bobobo is a mockery to fist of the north star. I mean his ultimate attack is called Fist of the Nose Hair (plus both kids are blonde) . Like Roah he has two underlings that resemble a lot the ill fated brothers of Rauh. Their powers are no were similar to these fist of the north star wierdoes. Gasser face and behavior is a satirical version of the strategic kicker kid. Like Raoh, Bobobo relies on him to direct him on the location of his enemies. Beauty like the other girl just looks pretty and is useless in every possible way. Bobobo in time starts recruiting an army to fight Bald the 4th. His whole goal in life is to bring order into the land and safeguard all the haircuts of adult and children alike.
Throughout the show, time and time again we see satires of other anime shows. My personal favorite was the satire to gundam. Also bobobo introduced a new concept of healing and battle. All his hair is controlled by the lil person system. Inside his afro he has an army of chibis that control and propel his fist of the nose hair. his behavior is just as random as Raoh except that he is comical instead of serious.
As for Bald the 4th, his behavior bears far more resemblance to the traditional Naraku like final boss. He stays behind while his army does all the work. At times the battles bear the satirical resemblance of a dragon ball z tournament. other times it is like a an odd megaman game where he enters a telephort and goes to battle one boss at a time. If I had an eternity or two it would not be enough to describe all the anime satires that have been made in bobobo. If you wish to wash this show please I beg of you to keep an open mind. It is truly bizarre.
Ramna 1/2
Ranma 1/2 is the handy work of Rumiko Takahashi. This was among one of her early graphic novels before the successful publishing of Inuyasha. Many of the character designs from Inuyasha are simply recycled extras from the Ranma 1/2 show. Among them there is Koga, Sesshomau and Kagome. These three in specific are almost copied verbadum from the Ramna 1/2 graphic novel. In conclusion, character design wise there are some odd issues here and there.
Anyhow... Ranma 1/2 is the story of a 16 year old boy that goes to a cursed mountain to train with his father. In these Bayan Har mountains Genma (Ranma's father) had discovered an ancient training ground. They did not believe the tour guide that kept telling them that the mountain was curse. While training Ranma fell in a cursed mini lake where a girl had drowned. His father in his term fell in the lake of the drowned panda. Needless to say whenever cold water falls on Ramna he becomes a super hot redhead.
After thinking about it for some time I finally get the cold water joke... Nyak, Nyak. Anyhow, the whole bulk of the show is Ranma's relationship with his wife to be. His father had arranged a marriage with his pal in order to keep his "anything Goes" dojo school. Aside from the fact he is half a girl now, his wife Akane hates all men. This might have impeded their marriage but her sisters convinced her to go along with the marriage considering that Ramna is half and half. When they both first met Ranma had appeared in the form of a girl. They got along until he took a warm bath.
Whenever he takes a warm bath he turns back into a guy. It was at that moment when Akene decided to enter the bathroom. At first she was shocked, then she was terribly angry. Overall, the anime show has a lot of comic situations involving Ranma's eternal going back and forth between a girl form and guy form. also there are a lot of decent battles and Ranma learns a few fist techniques to defeat his enemies. Not only does he have to woo akene but he has to juggle with hundreds of enemies to uphold the honor of the family he is marrying into.
Pokemon Pals
Pokemon is an organization of otaku pokeman fans. Ever since 2010 they have been producing pokemon fan fic episodes. Ever since pokemon became incredibly boring, the organization of pokemon pals decided that they could produce far better pokemon episodes than the creators. In the world of Pokemon Pals Ash Catchen has finally grown up. He is not where near becoming a pokemon master. He lives in the shadow of his former glory during the 90s. Now he must face a new harsher reality, where pokemon battles are deemed as animal abuse.
Team rocket is still after them. However, their tactics have become far more realistic. They not only wish to steal pikachu, but they want to kill Ash catchen as well. Universal health care for pokemon is over. Now Ash has to pay money to heal his pokemon. The first two exams done to pikachu cost Ash an arm and a leg. The nurse joys have become corrupt. The officer Jenies resemble far more out modern day cops. In the past they only fought with the stick or the grouwlith. Now they use the traditional stun gun and bullets.
However, in this new world Ash is not alone. He still has his old pals Misty and Brock. The nature of their friendship has changed throughout the ages. Brock is not as good humored as he used to be. Time and time again Ash stupidity exasperates him. Ash behavior was fine and dandy when he was a ten year old, but his pokemon master attitude does not suit an 18 year old. Misty too has grown far closer to Ash in emotions. Yet she cannot stand how immature Ash still remains. His mentality still remains so childlike that it is almost satirical. This combined helps create quite the hilarious anime show.
The Boondocks
This show features two black children and their granddad moving to a rich white neighborhood. This anime is based on comics strips created by Aaron McGruder for The Diamondback, the student newspaper at the University of Maryland. Among the comical characters there appears the black man Uncle Ruckus (no relations). He believes himself to be a white man that underwent a Michael Jackson like inverse metamorphosis.
It is cute how it makes fun of such political figures like the new president Obama. Like in reality, comic Obama only speaks and does nothing. He claims that all will be well as long as Americans hear his soothing voice. Ironically,during that speech America was suffering rolling blackout. So no soothing voice to ease the suffering of Huey and Riley and Granddad Freeman.
The battles themselves are quite original (although a large portion of them are copy-paste from the Naruto show) . Some episodes have a deep intrigue and deception. At times this family fights kon fu wolf $#%. My favorite was the continuation of what Huey calls "the Nigga moment". In this episode Stinkmead comes back from hell and posses Du Bois (Huey's lawyer neighbor). He was only vanquished by creating a peaceful harmony. This ,among other interesting episodes, makes it a noteworthy anime show.
