Top ten Anime Immortals
This blog will list the top ten anime immortals along with my reasons for believing why they are immortal. Immortality in essence means they cannot die or that they are almost impossible to kill. Immortality can be rated in two fashions. One is infinite healing and the other is the ability to sprout back after being completely annihilated. For example, certain immortals if they lose their head they die, while others can grow back even if they have a small cell left of them. Meanwhile there are others who own their immortality to a certain item , a certain jewel of the four souls, a philosopher stone that helps them grow back. However, without that item they are as mortal as you or me. but enough with the intro. As for the pick, that's jean Grey she is somewhat immortal but she did not make it to the top ten, she takes forever to come back to life (1000 years to be more exact).
10- Naraku of Inuyasha
the next immortal is Naraku. He has earned the slot because it took more than 250 episodes to defeat. His immortality depended in the existence of a stone, in his case it was the jewel of four souls. The way to destroy the jewel was a bit circuitous and did not make any sense at all. it had something to do with Kagome and naraku fussing into the jewel of four souls. Kagome had to ask the right wish from the Jewel of four souls. The whole ending did not make any sense and seemed a bit cheesy. If it was not for the intervention of the author naraku would have kept on rolling. But what can you do? Happy ending, Happy ending.
9- Envy of Fullmetal Alchemist (first version)
Envy has earned the 9th slot considering all the red stones he has eaten. Also in the show, due to her all powerful strength and versatility he was never killed not even once. Oh and another thing, his remains have long cease to be in the earth. Thus, the transmutation circle to remove the red stones will not work on him. The only way to defeat him is to beat the nine lives out of him but that seems unlikely considering how power.
8- Lord Orochimaru from Naruto Shinpudden
The next immortal is lord orochimaru. He obtained his immortality through a strange snake related jitsu. Whenever his body began to rot he could transfer to a new body and combine all his abilities with those of his new host. During battle he could shed his skin in order to heal his wounds. However, despite being defeated and completely absorbed by Sasuke a portion of himself was taken and fused with Kabuto. Slowly lil by lil he is taking over the body of Kabuto as he heals. As long as a significant portion of his chakra remains lord Orochimaru will rise again.
7- Logan of Marvel Wolverine
The next immortal is Logan. He recently became an anime character after the joint project between Madhouse inc and Marvel Comics. Anyhow, what makes wolverine immortal is his healing factor, though I suspect that if you cut his head off he might die. However that seems unlikely considering the adamantium encrusted in his bones. The only true way to defeat him would be to grab a hook and extract his brains out. Still even that solution seems impractical because he could regrow it as quickly as it is taken out. In my perspective the only true way to kill is either to dip him in a pool of molted adamantiumm. That was the way wolverine defeated Urico in X men 2 the movie.. Other than that it just seems like personage hard to kill.
6- Tenzen from Basiliks
Tenzen, like Hidan has a jitsu of immortality. He rates lower because he faints whenever he feels pain. He experiences pain like normal people. He rated higher than wolverine because he would come back to life even when he lost his head. He rated lower than Hidan because Oboro's eye jitsu negated his immortality jitsu. I do not know if sasuke could negate the power of Hidan. it seems his immortality is a physical thing not a ninjitsue. So for that matter Tenzen is higher than wolverine but Lower than Hidan.
5-Hidan from Naruto Shinpudden
Hidan on the other hand has the immortality jitsu without the super powerful healing. He requires assistance in order to put himself back together. Unlike the other immortals wounds do not slow him down. Heck his entire jitsu makes him into a human voodoo doll. He is still alive underground waiting for someone to dig him up and put him together. And another thing, the limbs that he loses do not rot nor bleed as much as they ought to. So it is safe to say that he would have enough blood left to move after being resembled.
4- Rin Daughter of Mnemosyne
Rin experienced two stages of immortality. In her first stage, she was an immortal girl that could only be killed by a male immortal counter part. normal humans could not touch her immortality spore that she received from the tree of Yggdrasil. Like Hidan her immortality prevented her from aging. However, this spore assured that all immortal girls of her kind would remain exactly the same way. So if you are a sickly youth then you stay ill for all eternity. As for the spore, restore her body completely even if every fiber of her is ripped to shreds (as it happen when she was eaten by a plane turbine). She reached her second stage of immortality when she became the guardian of the tree of Yggrisill. In that form she could only be slain by her own son who was to become the next guardian. still she is of a higher immortality than the previous two guardians who were born of lesser male angel immortals. Unlike them, she was not bound by the desire to seek her male counterpart to devour them. Thus, she became the perfect angel immortal.
3-CC from Code Geass
Something they don't explain well in Code Geass is where does this power come from. I really did not understand the explanation given by Charles Di Britaian or Lelouch's mother. All I understand about this power its working and effect. But alas the true origin or origins is left in mystery. Anyhow, there seems to be that in the past there were two primordial immortals. They have been passing this immortality from generation to generation. The immortals can only die when they give up their immortality of their own accord. To do this, they must give the mark of Geass to someone. When their Geass powers reaches a certain level where they cannot turn it off, then the new vessel for the primordial immortal is prepared. CC is of this kind of immortal. Like all immortals she cannot die, she has received several bullet would and had been crushed in a Mnemosyne like manner. It usually takes CC raging from 1 hour to a week to heal her wounds, depending on the severity of them. She is in essence a perfect immortal, her immortality is perfect. Like the old gods of the Olympus she can only die by giving up her immortality. Otherwise her immortality is perfect,
Oh as a side note: Free used to be number tree, but a kind fan informed me that free is actually a midget. This midget is very mortal. Thus, the wolf form is only an illusions. So Free, lost tird place to CC.
2-Alucard of Hellsing
Despite the fact that Alucard was defeated by Van Hellsing, he could not be slain. At best the hellsing organiszation gave him the demon treatment. The symbol in his gloves binds him eternally to the each successor of the Hellsing organization. What makes him immortal is how he is able to sprout back even if a small drop of blood is left of him. His strength is unparalleled and inhumane. His immortality comes from the hound grim familiars. The grim represents death. And like it was to be expected death cannot be killed by death, since after all he is death. So like death , he has the added bonus of immortality within him. In his awaken form holy does not affect him. This was noticed in his battle with Incognito. He melted the holy cross with his hair and shot it at incognito. Those abilities are inhumane. He actually managed to kill another immortal vampire and that in itself gives him a higher degree of immortality.
1- Sephiroth of Final Fantasy 7 plus Advent Children
The Final immortal is sephritoth. I know he is as old as time itself and that unlike the other immortals he does not have quick regeneration. If immortality was to be based on healing capabilities then the perfect immortal would be free. But the thing that makes sephiroth immortal is how he comes to be reborn. Based on the conversation between Rufus and Kadaj it seems that sephiroth has been coming into being ever since Jenovah landed on the planet. Jenovah has infected the whole life stream of the planet and as long as the planet earth exist Sephiroth will be reborn time and time again each time far more powerful than before. Among other things that are neat about him is the fact that he could survive an interstellar travel on top of a meteorite. He claimed to desire to use planet earth as a ship to travel from planet to planet absorbing power and souls in order to create one huge bad mother of a planet filled with perfect beings (or sephiroth clones).
Dude! Spoiler alerts on number 8 and 4!!!!
