Dove Strikes Out
In a strange way, this blog has something to do with the howl that was killed by the soccer player. In this occasion, however, a dove intercepted a fast ball thrown by a pitcher. Anyone who knows anything about baseball knows that he average speed of a baseball ranges from 60 to 90 miles per hour. This one in particular was rumored to have gone at least 80 mph. Needless to say, the bird died. Unlike the howl incident, this dove was killed by accident.
What both incidents have in common is that a bird (who had no reason to be on the field) intercepted a ball. The first time, the owl stopped a goal. Now, a dove intercepted a fast ball that would have resulted in the final out for the opposing team. Whats up with birds these days? They are always jumping in at the oddest location. My theory is that someone is training the birds to intercept balls in order to assure the victory for a team or too at least raise fan animosity for the opposing team responsible for the death of the cute bird.
Still, that theory does not sound too likely, but it would be fun if it was true. Whats sad about this dove incident is that it is not the first time a poor bird has been killed during a baseball game. This is just the most recent incident of such birdicide.
