Victoria Frances The Gothic Wonder

 Victoria Frances cat

Victoria Frances The Gothic Wonder

The art of Victoria Frances can be seen circulating in hundreds of vampire, heavy metal and Gothic forums. Her art truly is awe inspiring. She brings to the surface the dark wonders that lie buried deep within our shattered souls. The first broken carcasses is this maiden dressed in a black Victorian dress. This painting is called "Cat".  There are 3 cats. So considering that there tittle is "Cat", perhaps Frances is referring to her Gothic girl. She does have quite the feline quality about her. Plus, she has the same eyes as her three cats. Overall, this painting is rather creepy. I like best her two black roses and her earnings. They have quite the metallic shine about them. For the cat and the earnings this painting obtains a 5 star rating.

 Victoria Frances kiss

Kiss

The kiss of Frances is performed by a vampire girl and her victim. The vampire girl is giving her blood to her victim to make her into a vampire. This is quite common among lonely single vampires. Since vampires cannot reproduce this was the only method that vampires had to increase their numbers. The vampire maiden is Victoria Frances. She has the similar eye tattoo or drawing. The way the blood flows has a vine quality about it.The whole scene is taking place in the forest. A  lot of vampire attacks occur in the forest. Anyhow, 5 stars for the lover girls.

 Victoria Frances painting

Cat

Another feline themed painting. This maiden has Frances signature running makeup. The has been crying for quite a while. This contrast with the whimsical playful attitude of her furry cat. The gray skin along with the silver hair and wings gives this girl a supernatural quality about her. This painting has quite the melancholic air about it. 5 stars for both the fallen angel and the kitty cat.

 Victoria Frances vampires

Vampires

The above painting shows a vampire about feast on his victim. The closed eyes of both subjects shows how intensely they feel toward one another. The girl seems to have a Victorian nightgown and the vampire is dressed in clothing traditional gypsy male top. It is interesting to see the mild blood splatter that Frances added over the painting. Truly perfect and 5 star worthy.

 Victoria Frances vampire

Vampire

Now this is one pretty vampire. The white gown she is wearing is the traditional attire that Victorian maidens wore when they where buried. Her lose hair is quite epic. Her pale skin enhances her undead quality. The only color in this maiden is the blood that is dripping for her mouth. Her eyes shows the signature runny makeup that delineates the path of her tears. This girl was crying while she lived. However her hungry eyes have a fierce bestial quality about them. She is no longer human... 5 stars.

 Victoria Frances clown

The Clown

Now this is quite the change of pace. Frances usually draws vampires, Gothic girls and witches. It is refreshing to see something else. in this painting we see a Jester or Clown. The make up of the boy shows conflicting emotions. The white makeup shows a happy clown but the red details are sad. Quite the lovely dualism in his face. His natural human emotions has a melancholic air about them. Poor kid...5 stars.

 Victoria Frances violin

Violin Player

The violin player is part of a series of illustrations that Victoria Frances made for a book called Misty Circus. The boy and his surrounding are a bit more cartoonish. By Over emphasizing the sides Frances create an interesting caricature. She still maintained the same solemn tones typical of Frances. What I like best is the hand position at the upper part of the violin. Frances seems to know proper violin maintenance. After all, one has to be careful of the way one carries his instrument since those things get out of tune really easily. Anyhow, the violin player deserves 5 stars.

 Victoria Frances clown

The Clown

The above illustration shows the same violin player. The only difference is that he has a squeaky nose, ikky, ikky. Haha, I like clown noses...not clown though. Frankly I been scared of them since I was three. But Frances Clown does not look scary. He looks sweet, innocent and supper emo. He has quite the melancholic air about him. His eyes are swollen. He must have been crying or real until recently. I like best his grey misty eyes...5 stars.

 Victoria Frances loneliness

Loneliness

Ever since the violin was created it has been used to convey both happiness and sadness. Mostly sadness...Something about its tones makes this instrument notoriously painful to hear (regardless of whether it is played correctly or not nyak, nyak). Ok...moving along. The girl really does inspire the feeling of loneliness. She is bellow the bridge where no one can hear her sorrow. The ripped sleeves and barefoot makes me think that she is homeless or that some terrible misfortune has just befallen her. It is truly quite the depressing breath taking image. 5 stars for Victoria Frances.

 Victoria Frances Missy

Missy

Neat, quite the nice name. This Missy we have seen before in the painting of the cat. She was the same melancholic girl that had the cute kitty in her arms. In her natural environment she looks quite fierce. She is a scary fairy from the cold timberland of Rimes. Neat. She has a lot of interesting fairy like qualities. The whole socks looks is typical of fairy illustrations. They do not need shoes cause they are hovering most of the time. Their wings are usually not as aerodynamics as some of the other mythical fliers. Needless to say, pixy dust is responsible for the flight of the faeries (not the wings). Anyway, Victoria Frances deserves 5 stars for this cute lil Missy.

 Frances wounded violin

Wounded Violin

Now this is one amassing violin player. Super epic vampire. His sharps claws is an interesting trait among their kind. Only those that turn to wolfs have sharp claws. He holds with such dexterity such a frail instrument. Other interesting details is his flowing hair. The candles give the vampire a strange aura. He also has the classical running eye make up that accentuates his tears. He must be playing quite the passionate lonely song. After all, the life of a vampire is no picnic. anyhow, 5 stars for this vampire.

 Victoria Frances painting

Neat more vampires. Cool!! I don't know why vampires do not grow their hair more often. Such long hair accentuates their dark beauty. He has quite the roman facial features. Strong yaw, deep grey eyes. Scary... He has the same eyes and blood arrangement as all the other vampires and Gothic girls of Frances. Truly he deserves 5 stars.

 Victoria Frances sleeping

Sleeping

I think the girl is dead. She is sleeping in the snow and the way it has fallen around her make me think that she has not moved for quite a while. Plus, she has such a pale grey color. I like a lot the purple color eye makeup. It compliments the irises of her hair. Oh, the adornment in her chest has the silhouette of the most beautiful Victorian girl. I really do not know who she is. I seen such adornment often enough and when I asked about her I been told that she is the most pretty girl that ever existed. It is a pretty interesting detail... despite the fact that it is a cameo and not a dress ornament. Anyhow, this Frances painting deserves 5 stars.

 Frances Misty Circus

Misty Circus

Oh... so cute. Such a sad kitty, such a sad boy. Oh.. yeah. this is part of a series of illustrated stories made by Victoria Frances. Kids stories... most remarkable. Frances always gave me that air of a "twilight" chick. But kid stories are just as well. Good for her and godspeed. 5 stars.

 Victoria Frances vampire

More dead vampire chicks. She looks like a lost soul wondering a mausoleum. Truly romantic art is quite depressing to look at (not that it is a bad thing). I like art that makes me feel something or other. Frances art is filled with a lot of emotion. The grey tone furthers the depressive air that hangs inside this illustration. It seems that another one of Frances' fancies includes crossing the arms of her dead and undead. Neat. 5 stars for Victoria Frances.

 Victoria Frances rose

Rose

Rose...interesting tittle. For starters the vampire girl does have a rose. She herself has fed quite a lot and has gained her rosy color. This frail rose has thorns. She looks very wicked as she licks her frail hands the blood that has fallen on her neck. Scary. Behind her we see the typical Gothic church frame. Like all the other maidens she has the runny makeup. However, such delineation of sadness  contrast with her frightened ravenous eyes. She is no longer human... 5 stars.

 Fairy of Venecia

Fairy of Venecia

Masquerade!! Every place a different face. Masquerade, hide your face so the world will never find you... A curse upon all people with noses. That was random (even for O.G.).  The strange mask in the sky is truly eery. It seems as if the blood is going to rain down from the sky. I like the Venetian look, though that bridge is a bit odd. She is rather different from other fairies. I guess her mask is that of a fairy. Anyhow, she deserves 5 stars.

 Victoria Frances painting

Neat water nymphs. They usually hang out with each other like those two girls in the background. I remember an legend about the green eyes of a water nymph. The story goes that a nobleman starts frequently a lake. The more he went the more defined the green eyes of the nymph became. One day she was completely outside the water waiting for him. She lured him to the lake and drowned him. That much her love was for him. I remember the way Becquer described the nymphs' kiss. It was cold... like DEATH!! 5 stars for these maidens.

 Victoria Frances kiss

Just one last Dance Before we Say Goodbye

Just the tittle alone is 5 star worthy. These dark murky colors are rather pretty. It is truly quite romantic the intensity of the love this couple displays. They seem to be dancing an informal waltz (that was the fab back then). I can tell by the way she holds her in her free hand. Another lovely painting made by Victoria Frances.

 Victoria Frances Love

Love

Poor dead boy. Usually in the graves of children the placed a lil cherubim to guard their sleep. The wondering spirit if this boy cannot find rest. He has manifested in the form of a cherubim. Its sad when children die. The stains in "Love" has the same tear eyeliner pattern as the boy. Truly, Frances deserves 5 stars for this as well.

 Victoria Frances illustration

I don't know what freaks me out more the angel statue of the suicide girl. She looks very scary with her butcher's knife. It is interesting how her right hand she holds a white rose. I don't really get this kind of symbolism... Perhaps, they are just fancy trivial details like the bloody self inflicted wound in her neck. I don't know why I get the feeling that she wants to do the viewer more harm than herself. Anyhow... she deserves 5 stars.

 Victoria Frances illustration

Now this is one pretty Gothic  girl. I like the strange eye pattern. It has a leaf like quality about it. Another interesting detail is the fancy giant Gothic cross. Beyond her we can see a ruined Gothic Cathedral. I like the way her hair is pulled up. Pretty neat. 5 stars.

 Victoria Frances Arlene

El Corazon de Arlene

This is another front cover for Frances books. The tittle is "The Heart of Arlene". Pretty interesting hu? I always taught that the scars for hearth transplants where at the center of the chest. Its pretty hard to work with a hearth through the ribs. Eh.. but that's a minor detail. The bubbles and the butterflies are pretty cute. The heart beneath the eye is an interesting detail. Puppet girl, neat...5 stars.

 Victoria Frances art

Anther vampire maiden. This is a child vampire... well she is pretending to be a child. Still the dollies are pretty cute. I like the cobwebs and the red curtains. Scenery wise is pretty decent. not too far out there but i like it. 5 stars for the Victoria Frances World.

 Victoria Frances art

Another masquerade. This maiden has a crown of thorns like Jesus. The way the blood is flowing gives the impression that she is crying tears of blood. Her white dress and grayish skin makes the blood stand out. Composition wise is quite lovely. 5 stars for this Victoria Frances illustration.

 Victoria Frances violin

Another violin player. This maiden is playing her tune on top of her grace. As usual the candles add a strange aura to the main character. In the old days, the people slept 6 feet above ground. This arrangement was made in towns that where quite humid. The last thing we need is a corpse to rise to the surface after a landslide or flood. Anyhow, she deserves 5 stars.

 Victoria Frances werewolf

The above painting shows a lycin. He has his wolf form in the foreground. I like his blonde hair a lot. Werewolves where a Germania issue. They migrated from the north right along with the barbarians. Ever since then, these werewolves have been encroaching on the territory of vampires (who migrated from the East). Anyhow, this super stud werewolf deserves 5 stars.

 Victoria Frances photo

I always taught it to be quite pharmaceutical to end my artist blogs with a self portrait of them. Frances is just as cute as her own creations. Refreshing don't cha think.. She truly is a maiden with many talents that appeal to our depressed Gothic lot. The world today is just as bleak as it was 200 years ago. At least, she turned such pessimism into something beautiful. And for that she is truly a 5 star worthy artist. That and her vampire studs are pretty hot.
