Top Ten Anime Daddies

Father’s day is just around the corner (or maybe it already passed),it is for this reason that I decided to post a blog about the top ten anime dads of all time. This Blog is inspired on my old man. My dad was a great person and a fine human being. He was a doctor in Cuba who dedicated his life to saving others. Heck he saved my life once or twice. If it weren’t for him I would not be here writing to you about him. Not only did he save my life but he taught me to read, write, and play jacks. This is the standard that I will be using to judge all anime fathers. An anime father has to be kind,understanding. He must not put a barrier of authority between himself and his children. An anime father has to teach their children how to ride a bike.Though FYI, Dad did not teach me to ride a bike but he did kindle my love for videogames. He bought me my first Nintendo. Ok, moving along…
10-Spirit Albarn from Soul Eater
You might be surprise to hear that Spirit is a good father.He does try really hard to be a good father to Maka. I remember one episode where he asked the Neko Girl to buy Maka a book and she ended up buying kinky undies. He read to his daughter since she was little. His problem is that he cannot stand to be alone. After all, a man has needs. It is very hard to show fidelity when one’s wife is traveling all over the place. He simply did notfeel like playing the role of a stay at home dad. If anything Maka’s mother is neglectful.I mean I never saw her once in the anime show. So in my book Spirit Albarn is a good Daddy but a terrible husband.
9- Inuyasha’s father
In the next slot is Inuyasha’s father. He went thought extraordinary means to keep both sons from killing each other. His master plan was to give the strong weapon to the weak and the weak to the strong brother. His plan almost went to hell when Sesshomaru obtained a human hand. It is a good thing that after Inuyasha learned the wind scar he sorta gave up on mastering Tetsusaiga. Needless to say, the father after death failed at making the brothers love each other but at least they are not killing each other. That is a point in his favor. Still as a person he is terrible considering that he had both a human lover and a demon wife. But then again that was normal back then…
8-Torgal from the Last Remnant
Torgal is not an anime father that you are familiar with. It is rare to see a good anime father in the video game world. Anyhow, Torgal is the four armed neko nanny of Lord David Nassau Marquis of Arthlum. He single handedly raised this noble prince to be a great king. Whenever, Lord David does something naughty it is his job to clean his messes. He has been doing such a task ever size Lord David was an infant. He really is a great quiet sort of strange adopted father.
7- Fujitaka Kinomoto from Cardcaptor Sakura
The next anime father was nominated by Banyanyas from reddit. I thank this person for this great contribution. In slot number eight we have Fujitaka Kinomoto. He is the father from the anime show called CardCaptor Sakura . He was always very kind, gentle with his youngest daughterSakura. Also he was very devoted to his family. Another point in his favor wasthe fact that he was an archaeologist. One hardly ever sees such a career in the anime world.
6-Renton from Eureka Seven
Renton is another special case. At a young tender age 14,Renton took it upon himself to raise the three adopted children of Eureka. He tried really hard to be a role model for the children. Plus, he forgave Maurice who tried to kill him in order to keep Mama Eureka all for himself. It really shows a sign of maturity to try to raise three kids which are not your own.Most kids his age would rather run away than handle the terrible responsibility of raising three children. It is for this reason that Renton from Eureka Seven has won slot number six.
5-Shinigami Sama from Soul Eater
For slot number five we have Shinigami Sama from soul eater.He is just a great kind of guy. He is always extra gentle and extra cute with his son Death the Kid. He never, not once did he Shinigami chop his first born.He also taught his son all there was to know about being a weapon technician.He also tolerated the strange neurosis that his son had about perfection. In addition,he was a great role model to all the students in Shibusen. In order to open his school, Shinigami Sama had to change his true scary nature. The fact that he changed so radically for the sake of his children makes him both a great father and a great person.
4-Yagami Soichiro from Death Note
Soichiro was nominated by thirteenthdoctor from redidt. Soichiro is a great anime dad. It is obvious that Light Yagami learned thevalue of justice and righteousness from him. Before Light found the death note Light Yagami wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps. Even after he found the death note he still acknowledged that his father was a great man. It is too bad that Soichiro’s blind faith in Light prevented him from realizing thatLight was Kira. His love and devotion to his son was seen during the time period that Light was kept in confined. He too wanted to share in the suffering of his son so he insisted that L also put him in prison. Above all else, he went as far as to go with the hoax planned by L just to prove that his son was innocent. He truly was a great man and father.
3-Minato father of Naruto
The next great anime father is Minato father of Naruto.Before the whole nine tails incident Minato had great hopes for his son Naruto.The only reason why he sealed the nine tails inside his son was because he thought it would be cruel for another child to carry the burden that was his.He could have sealed the nine tails 100%. However, he chose not to because he wanted his son to be able to use some of the power of the nine tails to keep him safe. He also added an extra protection that would summon him up if the seal should ever be broken. Even at the moment of death, he was still thinking of his poor baby Naruto. He truly is both a great man and a great father to both Naruto and the entire Leaf Village. He made the sacrifice that no one else would.
2-Meas Hughes from Fullmetal Alchemist
For slot number two we have Meas Hughes from FullmetalAlchemist. He was nominated by thirtheenthDoctor from Reddit. Hughes is truly a great guy. Throughout the entire show one got the impression that he was crazy about his daughter. Even before she was born he kept talking about her with great enthusiasm with Roy Mustang. At any occasion he would always find time to speak about his lil girl. He also took great pains to make all her birthdays quite pleasant. His devotion to his daughter and his wife becomes most apparent in his final moments. When Envy slew him he was clutching in his hand a blood-soaked photograph of his dear beloved family. It’s too bad that he died in the line of duty. It is terrible when great fathers die.
1-Goku from Dragonball Z
In conclusion, the number one dad in anime is Goku. This father was nominated by Holystar64. The reason why I chose Goku for slot number one is because of the special bond he has with his son. He was always kind tohis son Gohan. When his son was kidnapped by Radish (his evil brother) Goku did not think twice about chasing after the stronger enemy. He was always there to protect his son. Another thing that makes Goku a great father was his insistence that Gohan became a doctor. He did not want his son to follow in his footsteps.However, circumstances forced Goku to train his son to be a warrior. When everything was set and done he still insisted that Gohan continue with his studies.It is for this reason, that Goku is the number one daddy of anime.
