Infinite Stratos
Infinite Stratos is the handy work of the mangaka artist called Izuru Yumizuru. To get the chi flowing, I will start by discussing IS. The Infinite Stratos units are the opus magnus of Tabane Shinonono. Not only did she design the concept for these unit but also their core as well. She is the only person in the world that knows how to create the unique core of the IS unit. However, due to her sudden disappearance the mass production of IS units had to stopped. Now in the world there are only 412 cores for a battalion of hundreds and thousands of IS units. It is for this reason that instead of improving upon the core manufactures started to evolve he IS units they have available. So when a new model comes out they simply have to move the core from shell to shell.
In the world of IS global politics plays a dominant role in the management of the IS units. The creator seems to have taken the strain of war off the graphic novel. However, geopolitics still plays a dominant hand in the advancement of the units. The main countries of interest in IS is Britain, the US (plus Israel), France, Germany, Japan and (of course) China. Each have sent their most skilled IS pilots armed with their most advance IS model to the best IS school in the world in Japan. There has been a new trend in anime about educating youth about global politics, along with Hetalia, this anime show found a new and interesting fashion to keep kids interested. The above countries mentioned are the most technologically advanced in the world. Like in the real world, they are constantly competing with one another.
Where the fiction kicks is in the fact that this all powerful armor suit type robot came from Japan. It does seem plausible that they might invent such a weapon (considering the fact they mastered the hologram technology). Also in order to be politically correct, the creator made the units be used in sport not in war. However, if you had seen the kind of serious areal battles that they have you would wonder why this is not another gundam series. That might have been the case is other countries had the IS units. However, by limiting the supply of IS units, the Infinite Stratos model where able to stay within the hands of the above mentioned ally nations (but I will speak more on this matter later).
On the surface, the Infinite Stratos is the story of the only male pilot of IS in existence. It seems that for some odd reason the IS units can only be piloted by women. This seems logical if you consider the fact that their creator was a bunny girl. Ichika then is taken to the all girl schools for IS pilots. Being the only male in the school he naturally called the attention of all the female students. Along the way he meets his two childhood pals Houki (sister of the IS creator) and Ling Yin ( china's representative) . As time passes he meets other girls Like Cecilia of Britain , Charles of France and Laura of Germany. Over all this anime show is infuse with the soul of sportsmanship. It is meant to brew good relationship among students, staff and countries at large. What I find most to my liking is that despite all the good will in the IS academy the battles are intense. Girls in this anime show are ruthless.
