Code Geass, Its about time I mentioned this one
Code Geass is the positively the most popular giant robot show that has or will ever come out. This anime show was written by Ichiro Okouchi. among other of his most popular screenplays includes Eureka Seven and Raxephon. With the hep of sunrise inc and clamp code geass has become the masterpiece that it is today. It may surprise you to know that this anime show was not based on a graphic novel. It is unique and original. the later graphic novels in my opinion should be disregarded. After all, they bear the resemblance of fanfics and between you and me it seems that they are trying to milk code Geass for all its worth. For all who may concern Code Geass ended with the death of the new king of Britannia at the hands of zero. Nothing else needs to be said of that matter.
Well moving along, in the future of code Geass, the world is gonna be conquered by Charles zi Britannia. His world views on humanity at large is that we are not created equal. It is the illusion of equality that makes us weak and feeble. All nations that embraced equality have slowly fell at the hands of the powerful Britannia Monarch. Like it is to be expected, he had some fancy giant robots called Nightmare Frames. A proper name if you consider that only the Britannia empire had workable units. They embody all the raw technological progress of the Britannia empire. For those that dared oppose Charles Rule these frames became for them living nightmare.
It is in this world that this story unfolds. The main character Lelouch is an exiled prince of Britannia. After the murder of his mother, he was cast out from the royal family and he was forced to fend for himself and his cripple sister. He felt powerless and helpless at the might of the Britannia empire. So unitl he turned 15 he felt content with living the life of squalor and hiding in one of the top universities of Area 11.
Area 11, that is the named that was giving to japan after it was stripped of all its arms and pride. Slowly the Britannia empire has done away with the Japanese culture. The colonist from Britannia (obviously) live with special privileges. They can get away with any crime and murder as long as it involves an area 11 resident. So while the Britannian colonist live a life of luxury, the people from area 11 must conform to live in the gettos Emperor Charles was so kind to make for them.
Though crushed the Japanese pride was not defeated. The story begins with some Japanese people obtaining proper nightmare units. They were trying to kill prince Clovis who was in charge of Area 11. During this event, a truck was transporting a biological weapon. The resistance had heard of this weapon and they sought to obtain it. Lelouch just happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. When he was discovered inside the truck, they decided to kill him. What saved him was that the biological weapon code name CC got out.
This girl gave Lelouch before she was "died" the power of the king. So before the soldiers shot Lelouch, he told them to shoot themselves to death. He took the attire of one of the guards and "borrowed" the nightmare frame from Violetta. This was the first major battle of Lelouch. Using chest strategies he was successful in killing Clovis despite the interference form the Lancelot. Thus, with this bright start and new found powers Lelouch was well on his way in his quest to avenge his mother's death.
