Afro Samurai
Afro Samurai was the handy work of a mangaka artist by the name of Takashi Okazaki. Since he was a child he liked the old western movies, soul music ad hip hop. Afro Samurai is a chimera of the samurai tradition combined with the above western trends. It is for this reason, that westerners like me where under the impression that Afro Samurai was the handy work of an America. But not, this is the fancy work of a Japanese man imitating the mannerism of the west.
Afro Samurai is a tale of hate, love and revenge. The world of Afro samurai is a dark and bleak world where warriors battle it out in a quasi futuristic feudal japan for the sake of obtaining the number one headband. It is said whoever has this headband is considered the most powerful man in all the world. The child Afro (voice actor Samuel L Jackson) is the son of the number one warrior. His father was beheaded by the powerful might of the cowboy number two. This cowboy told the child Afro that if he wanted revenge he should keep a hold of the number two head band. After that the number one cowboy warrior left.
Afro lost his innocence at a young age. No child should have witness the terrible murder of their old man. Now, Afro the orphan had to fend for himself while protecting the number two head band in order be able to challenge the number one warrior. However, one day lil Afro was attack by bandits, his father's remains (which he carried in a backpack) where desecrated and his head band was taken. When he resisted he received a terrible beating.
So as you can see, not even children are spared from the cruelty of those who seek to become the number one warriors. Time passed, Afro was taken under the care of a powerful samurai. He forged a strong bond with his children. When they grew up Afro discovered that his master had managed to obtain the number two headband. He killed his master to obtain the number two headband. This led to the creation of another warrior like Afro. His best friend vow a vendetta against Afro.
This perpetuated the eternal cycle of violence and hatred. Afro was later forced to defeat his best friend. Some time passed and the number one warrior left some clues to lure Afro. He realized that without the number two headband he could not complete his apotheosis. He had been collecting the heads and headbands of all the number warriors. The missing link was Afro. Now, Afro must survive the ruthless attacks of the allies of the number one warrior as well as his former cyborg best friend.
