5 Sci Fi Animes that Are 5 Star Worthy
Another popular anime genre in Japan is that of sci fi. In anime shows we see anime characters plunging into a technological world filled with wonders and delights. Technology like it is to be expected plays a key role in such anime shows. Among key technological advances is that of space travel. Space travel helps humans come into with beings of other worlds. In other variations humans have been able to populate the farthest regions of the galaxy. There may not be aliens but at least there are many humans out there in the universe.
Aside from space travel, another key technological development is that of cyborgs and androids. Cyborgs are humans that slowly where turn into machines. In ghost in the shell, this was done by copying the electrical currents of the brain into a computer brain. Androids on the other hand, they are artificial cybernetic organism modeled after humans. They are humans that are not really humans. Just machines that are made to behave like humans.
Also in the future of anime computers will come with your new cyborg body. In ghost in the shell internet has reached new heights. It is really something else and the hackers that threaten it have powers over cyborgs, androids and machines that rival the power of the gods. They embody the neon god. All works well in the world of the future as long as each machine performs its work. But should that function be impeded all goes to hell in the world of the future.
The last great advancement in futuristic anime takes its roots on stem cells. Stem cells will lead mankind to the creation of monsters like Ergo proxy and his pals and other sentient humanoid beings. Artificial human beings are a major problem in the world of the future. Monsters like Knives and the Krusnics have almost brought the world of the future into the bright of obliteration. This is what stem cells has brought us to.
There has bee also great advancement in prosthetic. Aside from knickknacks here and there a bit of mysticism and unknown still remain. Despite all the advances in technology sci fi anime keeps has within it a tone of uncertainty. Mankind still has a lot to know. In any case, here are the 5 star worthy anime shows.
Battle Angel Alita
Battle angel Alita is takes place in a far away future. In this earth, rich humans live on top of a wonderful floating city called Salem. This city is located in the former United States. Beneath, in the scrap heap robots and humans toil together in order to survive. Parts are extremely hard to salvage. From time to time other robots and other criminals target weaker more technologically advanced robots to obtain their parts. The only source of order are the hunter warriors. It is the duty of the hunter warriors to kill all who dare to kill to obtain spare parts.
One day Daisuke Ido finds in the scrap head a broken down cyborg. Only her head and torso remained intact. This Cyborg he named Alita. When she awoke her mind was in a complete blank. She saw the war and carnage around the scrapheap and decided to do something about it. She first worked as a hunter warrior. later she participates in the sport of Moterball. Basically, she is reconfigured to perform as a race cyborg. When she earned enough prestige she made her way into the forbidden city of Tiphares. From then on, she became a secret agent fighting criminals in the upper city. Over all this sci fi has a perfect synthesis of technology and battle. It is truly a wonderful new world.
Casshern Sins
Casshern Sins is a reworking of the classical megaman like androids named Tetsuya Azuma. In the original version, Casshern worked with his puppy, Luna and her followers to defeat Buraiking Boss. Buraiking was the first cyborg that was ever created. However, after being struck by lighting he went berserk. He was defeated at one time, however, he returned with an army and succeeded in conquering the world. In this version, Casshern plays the role of a hero.
In this alternate dimension however, Casshern is the villain. It is not often that one sees things in the perspective of the bad guy. In a strange way we sorta start to identify with him. It seems that the creator of Casshern sins wants us to question whether what we think is evil is truly evil. It is truly a wonderful devil's advocate thesis. Anyhow... the story begins with Casshern's assassination of Luna. Like in the other story, Luna was summon to save humans from the army of robots. Fearing her interference Bukaiking sent Casshern and two other cyborgs to slay the girl. However, her death had a strange effect the robots did not foresee.
In a few years decades, humanity is all but lost. The robots are not fairing well either. There is a strange corrosion in the land that is slowly rusting up the robots causing them to die. It is this day ad era that Casshern returns. By now he has lots all his memory of the event. After years of wondering around Casshern has lost his whole purpose of being. All he knows is that robots wish to devour him. A strange myth has develop around him. Robots think that by taking his parts they will somehow escape the corrosive effect.
Eventually, Casshern stars putting the pieces of his memory. He come to the realization that his actions caused this terrible event. Wherever he visits death seems to follow him around. His overall he plays the role of angel of death. He is here to remind the robot race that they are mortal too and should they become too arrogant and proud his effect will take hold of them and rust them out.
Overall, it seems that this anime show was the work of a man suffering from terrible nostalgia. The days of megaman are long gone and far into the path. They don't make good robot shows like they used to. Ever since astro boy, it has been down hill for the production of robot anime. it is a long extinct art. Before Casshern all we had to chew on was battle angel alita. Anyhow, this was the fancy work of Madhouse inc. Considering how they turned this anime show upside down it does not surprise me that they chose such a name.
Chobits
In the world of the future computers are gonna be the hottest things around. Literally! Laptops are gonna come in the form of really hot anime girls that you can put on your lap. There is also the chibi models for lil kids. For lonely old folks we have the grandson model. He will scrape his knees and laugh all so pretty like a regular grandson. As you can see normal human to human relationships are gonna get even more warped that they are today. After all, why meet pretty girls when you can surf the internet with your super hot laptop, on your lap.
Anyhow... the main character Hideki is the only person in the world that does not have his own personal computer. Since they have gotten super hot in all ways, it is almost impossible for someone like Hideki to buy one. His parents recently stopped sending him allowances, above all else he has to go to cram school to go to the university. With just a part time he can barely keep a roof over his head. Yep, life is hard for poor Hideki. All he wants is a computer, it does not have to work well or surf the internet quickly. As long as it performs the basics or just looks pretty he will be the happiest boy in all the world.
His wish came true one dark spooky night he was making his way home. He saw among garbage bags the prettiest lil computer in existence. Exited he lifter her up and carried this computer home. Among things that hardly ever change is the fact she weighed a ton or town. So after breaking his back to haul this laptop for an hour or two he finally reached home. After setting the cutie down he searched for the on bottom which he found between her legs. When she finally turned on she was the prettiest useless laptop in all existence.
All she said was "chi". How cute? Despite her useless appearance, Chi was in fact the most technologically advanced computer in existence. Her father who created computers like her design her not for surfing the web but for performing the role of being a daughter. For you see his sterile wife always wanted a child. He he program Chi feel love and love a person in return. However, after her father died and many other terrible things should herself disconnected resting on top of garbage cans. All her data was erased aside from her normal love programing.
In this anime show, by following this protocol she falls in love at once with Hideki. At first her affection is like that of a child for a father or a mother. An affectionate pure sort of love. However, as time passes her love for Hideki becomes more demanding. What keeps her from manifesting her desires is the terrible secret she carries within. As for Hideki, he remains oblivious of Chi's ever growing affection. He is naturally a hearty well intention sort of guy. It is his good nature that keeps him thinking that Chi is just a very gullible lovely sort of cute computer. However, as time passes he starts noticing that there is something seriously wrong with his PC. This in a nutshell is the world of Chobits.
Saber Marionette J
In this show humanity has lost all its women. They originally crash landed into this other world in order to escape the over populated earth. Unfortunately, their crew in time became under populated for the women did not manage to survive the fall. In order to survive the few men started DNA manipulation in order to create new citizens. However, they where never able to recreate a women for they lost the last remaining sample of womanhood.
Thus, it became rather dull that that entire world was a sausage fest. In order to release some of the boredom men created marrionettes in the form of women. In their society these robots did chores for the men. If one fell in love with their unit they became an outcast. The main character called Hotaru, one day found a super old super advanced marrionette that had human lie emotions. Later, he discover two others and it became quite the hazard due to the fact that all three fought for his attention. This is a cute example of a love square.
Trigun
Trigun is among the most original sci fi anime shows in all existence. This series is the handy work of the mangaka artist called Yasuhiro Nightow. Like it was to be expected Madhouse had enough foresight to sink its teeth into this wonderful graphic novel. The Trigun that we all know and love begins in the planet known as Terra 2 aka Gunsmoke. This arid planet bears the resemblance of the Arizona desert. The whole scenery and manner of the character mimics the classical western cowboy movies. This western graphic novel comes with a twist. Aside from the fact that humans live on another planet, this planet has five moons and hardly if any surface water. Throughout the anime show we see a blend classical western scenery with highly imaginative futuristic specs.
All the cities in Terra 2, are built around the remnants of the mother ship that brought the humans to this planet. About 1000 or so years ago, Project Seed sent human vessels carrying dormant humans in order to settle them in other planets. However, due to technical failures this branch of project seed ended up stranded in Terra 2. Without the technology or the resource to return to out of space, the stranded humans where forced to settle in Terra 2.
This is the setting where Trigun introduces the Humanoid typhoon Vash the Stampede. At first he is introduced as a super human outlaw. However, as the story progresses we begin to understand the deep relationship that Vash had with Project Seed. For starters, he has not aged one bit in the last 1000 yeas or so. So in all sense Vash the Stampede is not human.
His inhumanity is not too apparent when one looks at him. like all regular humans he has human surges such as the need to feed and the needs of the flesh. He is a self proclaimed womanizer. His accuracy and gunmen skills also are in the earthly plane. However, at times of terrible stress (like when he was pushed to the edge by Legato in Augusta), Vash releases devastating destructive power. This power comes from a special device inside his gun that transforms it and fuses it with his arm. The force of the blast released was responsible for the destruction of July. This incident earned Vash the name Humanoid Typhoon or the Stampede. Only destruction follows in his wake.
It has gotten to such extreme that the government of Terra place a bounty of 60 million double dollars on his head. The story of Trigun is one bathed in blood. It seems that when Nightow created this graphic novel he was advocating for non violence. Through Vash he showed the conflict that pacifist always faced in the faced of realist like Knifes. it is truly very hard (almost impossible) not to kill. Among other themes ranging in this graphic novel is poverty, slave trade, religion, and narcissism. they are each interwoven and careful embedded into the main storyline of this graphic novel/anime show. Overall, it is really a beautifully crafted multi-layered anime show.

i'm looking for a different one. I don't know the name but it was the bet trailer i've ever seen. There was a bunch of guys and girls. They wore cool suits with awesome helmets, espcially a really hot guy that wore red cloths. they flew os little rocket things or maybe they were motor bikes, i'm not sure but if it helps, the trailor was shown on the first disc an anime called elemental gelade. the trailer had really awesome music and great graffics (the graffics reminded me of code geass). I know it's not code geass, yu-gi-oh, astro boy banner of the stars, star driver, code breaker, peace eco smile (but it posibly has the word echo or sun in it)it's also not alot of other anmies and I would know because i've been searching for it for over a year. All of the animes on this site look really awesome but there not the anime. If you even think you know what anime i'm talking about (even if it doesn't fit all of the criteria that I put) could you please tell me so I can stop searching for this seemingly non existent anime and just watch it. Thak you so much who even trys to come up with some ideas, it is greatly appreciated. Thanx > <
