Prohibited I, II and III by Luis Royo 5 Star Worthy Dark Fantasy Pictures
This blog featured 11 pictures from Luis Royo prohibited collection. At a certain time, Luis Royo went out of his way to create some low brow works. I looked through all three albums; they are all pretty good. So here I featured the only work that was not a half backed sketch or problematic.
The first picture is called Front Separator. I don't really get the title. Perhaps, its a mistranslation from the Spanish title. This is after all, a tentative title. Anyhow, there is a cute girl surrounded by an NX. Her hair is black and curly. Her pose is quite sensuous. Her dress is really pretty. Behind her there is a strange ominous light. It serves its purpose well. 5 stars for this prohibited piece.
Now this is one pretty redhead. This work is called the Eye of the Unicorn. Aside from the senseless title,Luis Royo has a great eye for detail. Still, she does have a horn. Her red hair is quite realistic. The entire picture is quite well balanced and well arranged. No area or space is wasted. Its hot in a sublet way. This lovely prohibited work deserves 5 star rating.
This one I liked a lot because of the Botticelli painting. This detail is from "La Primavera". I truly love all of Luis Royo's classical painting reference. I respect an artist that respects the classics. As for the maiden, she is as fresh ans as youthful as spring. The thing about Botticelli is that his work was hot for the time. I think the maiden is blindfolded. I guess this one is meant to text the viewer. I seen similar tricks in the dolphin or lovers picture. If you are pure you see the dolphin first, if not you see sweet lovers. So what do you see? I saw Botticelli... 5 stars.
This one is super violent. I like how this maiden has sliced of the head of her captor. She must be Amazon or maybe she is related to mantis. Both do slay their lover boys after mating. I count about 2 skulls and two bloody severed heads. Her spear is stained with fresh blood. She is holding up with her legs whats left of the dead guy. The pose clearly puts the girl in control. This one is as disturbingly gory. For a low brow work it is not half bad.
I think this one could have done better in a different collection. Then again I am easily impressed by blood and swords. Ironically... I can only take blood in either paintings or anime. If the bloody scene looks 100 % human worldly then I find it disgusting. That's part of the reason why I hate scary movies, and Spartacus. In any case, this prohibited work of Luis Royo deserves 5 star rating.
The next Prohibited artwork is called Black Tulle. Tulle as in fine silk. Frankly, I had to look up the word cause I had no idea what Tulle meant. So yeah,the tulle that Royo is referring to is that black cloth with fancy rose patterns. The only color is on the maiden's red hair. In any case, this pretty maiden deserves 5 star rating.
Another pretty maiden. This one has her neck and arms chained. She is resting in the floor. I can tell by the way the water is building inside the circle. Her black clothing looks pretty cute. 5 stars for this Prohibited work.
The pattern of her lingerie is extremely pretty. It is lovely the contrast of her white lingerie with the black drapery. Her curly hair is really cute. It is truly worthy of this Prohibited collection. 5 stars.
This grey maiden is really pretty. The rain that is falling upon her looks wonderful. She has a lovely expression as the rain falls on her. In any case, this Luis Royo works deserves 5 star rating.
The next one is called Flights of Prelude. This maiden by the window has a bar code on her belly (just like a product at the store). Her eyes looks sad as she gazes at the viewer. She is a prisoner that yearns for freedom. This prohibited work has earned 5 star rating.
The next pretty picture is called the Millennium Lighthouse. The maiden rising out of the water has the same pattern as the lighthouse. She is on her way to that place. The water and the scenery works pretty well. Her skin color and her spikes makes her seen as if she is part of the building. In any case, she deserves 5 stars.
Ok, lets wrap things up. This pretty maiden is part of the Prohibited II decoration. Her classical contraposto position works nicely with her black dress...5 stars. I hope that you liked this blog a lot. Luis Royo is among my favorite dark fantasy artist. So, tata and goodnight.
