Aquarion Evol Anime Review
The first anime show that I watched was Aquarion Evolution. This was a two part episode. Basically, Aquarion Evolution was the second part of The Genesis of Aquarion. A whole cult evolved out of the incident that occurred 12,000 years ago. After the final battle with the angels, the cult of Aquarion appeared. It is quite common for the deification of heroes.
Our main character is Amato. He has the elemental power of flight. His favorite movie chronicle the final battle with Toma and Apollonius. After, 12,000 years, that epic final battle is considered nothing but fiction.
It has become an anathema for male and female vectors to form Aquarion. It is pretty interesting the gender segregation in the element schools. The males receive military training. You know, the sort of training that enhances their male ego. The females live in a church, in a chaste nun like state.
Even the name Aquarion has become forbidden. They call his clones Aquaria. In Kaballah, the best way to hide a name is to alter it and make it available to all. The Aquaria was thus derived from the name Aquarion. To use the name Aquarion would allow the male and female vectors to fuse.
For some odd reason... this was a big no no. So much so that the Aquaria units wore chastity belts . These belts allowed for the Aquaria unit form only by same sex elements. However, the belts prevented the vectors from sharing mind and body during the fusion. Also, this belt limited the power of the unit. Aquaria, unlike Aquarion, could not tap into the powers of its vector pilots. It still packed a punch.
The main enemies in this story are the "Abductors". These are beings from another dimension that came to earth in search of brides. Amata lost the girl he liked because she was Abducted.
The story basically begins with Amata meeting a cute girl named Mikono. She reminded him a bit of the girl he lost. Both liked the movie about the first part of Aquarion. They had a fun time talking and then the Abductors arrived.
For a first battle, it was not half bad. The abductors piloted units that resembled spider robots. The Aquaria units managed to chase them off. However, their leader Kagura , who looked and behave exactly like Apollo, entered the scene. His unit looked like a twisted version of Aquarion. He made quick work of the Male and Female Aquaria units.
During the battle, Amata uses his powers to save Mikono. Somehow Amata resonates with one of the Aquaria units. At exactly that moment, Gen Foudo comes out of his 12,000 year old hibernation. He told Amata to speak out the true name of Aquaria. By yelling forth "Aquarion", Amata was able to form Aquarion Evolution.
As the battle progressed, Kagura picked up the scent of Mikono. One of the other elements has a vision of the future. Since they were in perfect harmony all saw that Mikono was going to become the bride of Kagura. Although, Kagura lost to Aquarion, he set his eyes on the "wench" that he liked. The second episode concludes with Kagura returning home dreaming of his bride to be.
That is Aquarion Evol in a nutshell. Those where truly the best two first episodes that I have ever seen. Phi stars recommends this anime show to readers like yourself. This anime show truly is 5 star worthy.

ReplyDeleteWorse idea the writers ever had, did they develop amnesia, the plot line made no sense.
ReplyDeletethere are some conciseness too, like for example, in the first part , Apollo was Apoloneus, but in the second part, Zen Fudo Is Apolonious and Apollo was the dog, and Anata is the dog, and i'm just so confused it makes no sense at all. The final battle is winging up to an astonishing ending and I'm looking forward to how everything unfolds. Plus the name Aquarion has nothing to do with the Zodiac sign Aquario. So WTF.
