III Millennium by Luis Royo 5 Star Worthy Pictures
The next album has all of Luis Royo's prognostics of the 3rd millennium. They are all very grim pictures. The first picture shows a maiden on top of the ruins of the statue of Liberty. The maiden looks a lot like Rouge. She has the same silver that Rouge developed after absorbing Magneto's powers. Now that I think about it, X men technically belongs to the third millennium. After all the original graphic novel took place in a distant future. In any case, this post apocalyptic picture deserves 5 star rating.
Part of the doomsday prognostic include the classical apocalyptic legions of angels. So here we have Royo's doomsday angel. She has a fancy spear and cute wings. Around the horizon I can see a ruined pagoda. Works pretty well, the balance between beauty and decay. 5 stars for this III Millennium picture.
The next picture show a futuristic warrior maiden. She is hiding behind a pillar preparing to strike back. This also goes well with a post apocalyptic vision. Many imagine a fancy high tech wars. Doomsday done by the hands of humanity. 5 star for this pretty maiden.
Now this is one pretty redhead. The pink car is an old classic. I forget... Its like that building that has a car in smashed through the second floor wall. The maiden herself has a 80s look. The background itself looks death and decaying. I see a ship , some cars... I think this place recently experience a huge title wave. In any case, this pretty red head deserves 5 star rating.
Another futuristic maiden. This one also has a gun and a huge futuristic, bloody sevillana. The Sevillana's are fancy giant daggers that are used by gypsies. They are very sharp and aimed at creating deep cuts. The maiden herself has some nice armor and lots of other weapons. The smoky background gives one the impression that a battle is still going on. In any case, this curly haired killer deserves 5 star rating.
I think this is the same pretty maiden from before. This time she is walking around a river of death. All the bodies in the ground have a strange weird ooze (like those of weird mummies). She has a strange weird aura around her. Very cool, 5 star for Luis Royo.
This time the warrior maiden is wearing a fancy white dress. Her tanned form combines well with her white dress. She looks much better as a red head. This wonderful picture deserves 5 star rating.
The next post apocalyptic painting is a bit strange. Behind the girl we can see a medieval Annunciation. Like the virgin the maiden has a cute halo. She also has shackles. This considering the scene I guess she is the new slave of God. The strange blurriness in the background makes it seem as if she came out of the gothic fresco... cool! 5 stars for this Royo picture.
The next one is an anniversary heavy metal picture. 20 awesome years of heavy metal. Can you think of something more metal than this!? That is one super cool looking giant robot. 5 stars.
The worms eye perspective works pretty well. She is looking back because she though she heard something. Considering the angle of perspective, it seems to me she heard the viewer creeping around. Again, we have the bones of skyscrapers and ruin nearby. The only color comes from the Coca Cola poster. This red sign naturally makes our eyes focus on the pretty maiden. In any case, this "Blood Sister" deserves 5 star rating.
The next picture shows a traveling caravan. This scenery is typical of post apocalyptic worlds... The sky is blackened out. I think this might not be another world cause of the weird animals close to the foreground. Following the Baroque tradition, Royo made this world scene infinite by showing an infinite ocean. 5 stars.
Aside from the weird scenery and monster, this picture features a pretty slave girl. She has a simple classical contraposto stance. The only dynamism comes from the creature that is pulling on her. Its pretty safe to say who the real barbarian is in this post apocalyptic image. I think one one of the approaching creatures is a monkey. Eh... most imagine that our creatures will evolve one day and enslave humanity. Judging by the gate, it seems she is a sacrifice for some monster. From the vantage point, it seems that the we ,the viewer, are the monster. In any case, she deserves 5 star rating.
Lets wrap things up, my sweet chibis. The last featured III Millennium picture shows a hottie with her robot lover boy. Its pretty interesting the beach "Holiday" background in addition to the decaying factory. Its a very strange juxtaposition of nature and artificial. The same contrast repeats itself with the pretty girl and the robot. In any case,this lil number deserves 5 stars.
I am so tired of being serious. I am gonna do some trivial blogs to get my mind out of the real world. 5 stars for doomsday. You know, Luis Royo's world is not that far away. Oh! I just can't wait!!
