Final Destination Horror Movie Series 5 Stars Worthy
Today, I wanted to rate the final destination movies. Specifically, I wanted to focus on the first three movies. The others were a bit too gory for my taste. Plus, after a certain point, Final Destination simply focused on creative accidental deaths. So let us focus on the original vision. The first movie begins with a student field trip. One of the students, had a premonition that the place was going to crash. His panic helped to get a few of his fellow students and his teacher off the plane.
While they were arguing with the kids they saw the plane blowing up. After this incident, the air marshals interrogated the premonition kid. They thought that he had planted a bomb of sorts. However, all they got out of him were his rantings about seeing the future. After avoiding death for the first time, there is usually a grace period in the Final Destination movies.
This grace period usually lasts as long as the funeral of the first victims. Once they are buried, death starts to pursue the survivors. From then on, the Final Destination movies becomes the ancient struggle of mankind to avoid death. Here Death has taken a special interest on those who avoided death. Overall, these movies are about avoiding destiny. It shows the futility of such efforts.
Then again, one cannot simply give up and die. For the most part, the types of death depend on the death they avoided. Thus, the brats of the first movie suffer terrible deaths. Aside from death, there are several similarities among the Final Destination movies. There is usually a different group of survivors. There is usually always a person who gets a premonition. That person also finds some sort of clue of the order of deaths. Also, the number of people who survive the Final Destination movies are usually rather low.
In the second movie, the survivors found a way to get death off their back. If I remember correctly, in the second part, the first death was an elaborate car accident. Since then, I have been paranoid about lumber cars. The third movie focused on an accident in a roller coaster. The third movie was not too hilarious. When I watched the second part, I was aware that I was watching a second part. They even had one of the survivors of the first part.
Overall, what makes the Final Destination movies are the character dynamics. The tragedy is that after the third part, everything became about elaborate deaths. Those movies became one gory nightmare. Frankly, I only recommend for you the first three movies. The others that came were no fun at all. The 3D version was pretty peachy. Quite the gory thrill ride... for those into gory nightmares. In any case, the generic Final Destination series are 5 stars worthy. The best ones are the first three parts.
