Dio Rock Band Review

Man, I love that Dio. His music is just that freaking awesome, even today.  The first song I ever heard from Dio was “Holy Diver”. This song is memorable for me because it was also the first Normal Level song that I was able to play from Guitar Hero. Now, let’s discuss the Dio band. Dio was formed by Ronnie James Dio. He wanted to do a solo band after he broke off from Black Sabbath and moved to the US. Over the years, the band members that accompanied Dio changed. Thus, I am not going to bother mentioning them.

His first debut album was Holy Diver.  From this album, the two singles “Holy Diver” and “Rainbow in the Dark” led the way to Dio’s almost instantaneous fame. Then again, his name was already well known from his previous dealings with Black Sabbath and Rainbow.  This album worked pretty well because all of Dio’s band members wanted to make something amassing. They all worked really hard on this first album. You know what they say, first impressions are very important. They can make or break an artist. Dio’s second album, The Last in Line, was also quite the master piece. I noticed that many of Dio’s albums are title after the single. It makes sense. Plus, it saves you the time of thinking up a title for the album.

Normally, on this point of the post, I would jump to Dio’s latest exploits. Unfortunately, Dio died in 2010 from a stomach cancer. This cancer was a dragon he was not able to defeat… He may be dead, but his music has made him immortal. Even today, Dio still has a large fan following. His songs too have been introduced to a newer audience via Guitar Hero and the Tenacious D movie. He immortalizes everything that has to do with rock music. In any case, Dio deserves 5 star rating.
