Tadema was a British romantic painter. When he was young he suffered a terrible illness. Since he was so fragile, his family allowed him to spend his time painting and drawing. As such, he developed his artwork. His early paintings focused on Egypt and some historical subjects. Later, he switched to Greek historical scenery paintings.
