Currently, Sukitte Ii Na Yo is an extremely popular manga. As it happens, such popular mangas get their very own TV anime series. Sukitte Ii Na Yo centers on a high school romance. Like such, it begins with a misunderstanding. Our main character is a lonely girl by the name of Mei Tachibana. Dear sweet Mei, has spent all the 16 years of her short life alone. She has not opened up to anyone. As a result, she has no friends or lover. This all changes when she kicks the most popular kid in school. This occurred all over a misunderstanding. She got angry and accidentally kicked the hottest kid in school.

Obviously, this had never happened to Mr. Stud. As it happens, Yamato Kurosawa was struck dumb by Mei's kick. They say love is blind, but in this case Love is also stupid. For Yamato, Mei is unlike any girl he has ever met. Usually, the anime girls he deals with melt in his presence. It seems Yamato likes maidens with some backbone. After this incident, Yamato starts saying that Mei is his friend. One day, Mei has some stalker problems. Yamato protects her from the weirdo with a kiss. Meaning, he gave a visual sign that Mei is taken.

Like the noble vulture, stalkers do not chase after prey under the protection of the lion. Thus, Yamato's gesture allowed for Mei to find peace. In time, Yamato's friendship helps Mei open up to others. Yamato is doing all of this for Mei with the hopes that one day she will say "I Love You". See, this is where the title Sukitte Ii Na Yo comes in. A word of warning, this anime show is aimed at an older audience. Thus, its no good for small chibis. That being said, Sukitte Ii Na Yo deserves 5 star rating.
