Random Victoria Frances Gothic Artworks: Sit Back and Enjoy the Show!
Well, continuing with the Frances blog, here are all the new artworks that I could find. Remember, when I say new, I mean new in relationship to phi stars. I hope that you like a lot. So, sit back and enjoy the show.
The first runner up is a self portrait of Victoria Frances in winter wear. She has a Victorian toilette (or fancy big hairstyle popular during the Rococo period) ornamented with butterflies. She looks really pretty with all those greyish tones. If I remember correctly, butterflies are the symbol of the soul. With the winter tundra scene, this implies that Frances here is a dead maiden. For such witty use of classical symbolism (that only I detected), Victoria Frances deserves 5 stars.
The next one is a painting of a photo of an old woman. It is interesting the contrast between the smooth faces of the dolls and the wrinkle face of the old woman. Also, the dolls have different ages. Perhaps they are representations of different time periods of the old woman. In any case, Frances deserves 5 star rating for this Gothic artwork.
The Tribunal
You know, something about this maiden reminds me of Hester Prim. You know, the maiden from "The Scarlet Letter". I guess she is a witch awaiting a trail. Look at her worried consternating look. I think she is praying for a miracle. You know, puritans did not wear black out of piety. Black was just the most expensive fabric. They wore it as a sign of wealth and power. The poor used to dress in pink or white. You know, light color toners. In any case, this beauty deserves 5 star rating.
The next one shows a lil girl walking about a Gothic castle. Gothic Castles back them were really crammed. They were meant to withstand a lot of blows, not to look pretty. All their decoration was either military or political. For this reason, you see lots of knight and princesses paintings. In any case, this lil number deserves 5 star rating.
The next one is a wounded maiden. I think her nose is broken (plus she has a purple eye). Such blows are typical of evil, jealous husbands. The fall leafs and the ground background shows that she is dead (or just lying wounded in the gutter). Either way, its a very sad painting. 5 stars for Victoria Frances.
The Annunciation
This maiden's corset is identical to the one worn by Frances in the real world. She has stigmata. Stigmata is the manifestation of Christ nail and stab wounds. Most believed that the position of the wounds should be in the wrist. However, ancient documents state that Christ Crucifixion was unusual. His was a political execution. Thus, his nails where put in his hands to make it extra painful. He was held up by ropes.
Aside from the stigmata, the stained glass window gives this maiden a halo. Also, she has painted tears. Her look is skyward, just like Jesus was when he yelled the cryptic phrase, "God, why have you abandon me?" ( I think the phrase is weird cause how can God abandon himself. I guess it was all part of his metamorphosis into a human. His final trail was to experience death. He became so human that for a second he forgot that he was God... I guess I am reading too much into that line). In any case, this lovely lil number deserves 5 star rating.
The next one shows a red and blue clown. Black tears are streaming out of their white hollow masked eyes. If you looks closely you can half see the eyes behind the mask. It is a very creepy Gothic picture. In any case, Victoria Frances deserves 5 star rating.
Ghost Fabric
The next one is called Ghost Fabric. Its pretty simple the reason for the title. Here the artist makes a lot more emphasis on the attire of the ghost girl. Its see through. The odd blue lighting gives the entire picture an air of mystery and occult. For this lovely number, Victoria France deserves 5 star rating.
Lecho de Muerte or Deathbed
The next one is called "Deathbed". It makes sense considering that Frances is lying on top of graves. Following the death theme, we have some dead fall leaves and a church. Back in medieval times, the church had a monopoly on dead management. Anything that had to do with the otherworldly was their department.
So all graveyards were near Gothic churches. Also, the churches themselves had underground graveyards or catacombs. It was a place not for the living... I guess I now understand why Zarathustra called the priests "Preachers of Death". In any case, this wonderful artwork of Victoria Frances deserves 5 star rating.
Speaking of death, here we have more butterflies. They are decorations for Arlene of "Arlene's Heart". I am not too familiar with the story. However, by putting the iconography of Frances together, it is my guess that it is the story of a puppet girl that obtained a human heart. With a heart, she was not longer a hollow doll. Thus, the butterflies or souls came to her. Overall, its a very pretty artwork. Her face is wonderful. In any case, she deserves 5 star rating.
In the next one, Arlene is falling into a purple nebula. Nebula are the places were stars are born. They are the remains of blown up super novas. The sun is not a new star. It too was born of a nebula. Perhaps here Arlene is in the process of being reborn. In any case, another 5 stars for Victoria Frances.
This time Arlene is without hair but has butterfly wings. This hairless state makes her look even more like a doll. The butterflies this time do not have strings. This color drawing of Victoria Frances is 5 star worthy.
The next one Arlene has a WWI gas mask. During that war, such mask were needed to combat a powerful poisonous gas. If you breathed it, you drop dead in like 5 seconds...after your lungs melt (hahaha). The sweets look very sweet. 5 stars for Arlene's Heart.
This one seems like the refined finished version of the Arlene butterflies drawing. It seems Frances settled for an odd purple hue. The texture and colors on the wings look quite realistic. The hands also look realistic. In any case, Victoria Frances deserves 5 star rating for this lil number.
This one is a reference to Edward Munch "The Scream". The anime show "Another" finally explained to me this painting. It was not the person who was screaming bu the world. The person was simply shielding his ears from that scream. Following a similar schematic, Arlene is shielding her hears from that horrible agonizing yell. In any case, this impressive impressionist reference deserves 5 star rating.
This time Arlene is laying on the cold snow. She is drawing a heart on the floor. Its a very depressing picture...5 stars for Frances.
I think this is the last of "Arlene's Heart". Here Arlene is wearing a gas mask and she has a flower on her hand. You know, by having Arlene nude Frances makes her look more like a doll. Clothing could easily mask
This one is from the Misty Circus. This lil boy is the Periot of the circus. I guess Periot is clown or something. Is a good thing I did a lil research before continuing on a tangent. In any case, his name is Sasha. Sasha is a Russian boy name. It is short for Alexander. Here Sasha is putting a rose on a graveyard. Sasha seems really sad. 5 stars for Sasha.
This one is Sasha's black cat. It too looks very melancholic. I like a lot the whole fall scenery. It is really depressing... 5 stars for Victoria Frances.
This guy is the leader of the Misty Circus. That top hat + cane attire is typical of circus masters. It makes then look authoritative in an entertaining fashion. His cane seems to be emanating a strange light. This one of Victoria Frances deserves 5 star rating.
This one is a preliminary drawing for the Sasha at the graveyard picture. This time Sasha is holding onto the rose. You can see the graveyards in the background. 5 stars for Victoria Frances.
Here we see three witches around a cauldron. They look really ugly decaying. Trios of weirdos are pretty common demons since antiquity. Trios of witches are important for avoiding spell exhaustion. Judging by the colors, each witch is a specialist in a different magic. Blue is weather, red elemental (like fire and lightning) and black is curse. They must be cooking something evil. 5 stars for this wonderful artwork of Frances.
It is not unusual for seers to travel with the Circus. This seer is called Madame Cloe. She is a gypsy seer. Such seers are not limited to seeing the past, present and future. They can also give out infamous gypsy curses. So, beware and pay what you own to the seer. This pretty Cloe deserves 5 star rating.
See, Madame Cloe is casting a curse. She is wearing the traditional black hoods of dark spell casters. You can see all her strange spell components on the background. This cutie deserves 5 star rating.
Cool, the Circus master is magicking his cane. The green lightning works really well. 5 stars for Victoria Frances.
This is the last of the Misty Circus. Here Madame Cloe is in tears running through the forest. Perhaps, she had a terrible vision of the future. I see toward the corner some raven feathers. Where there are ravens there are dead bodies... They are usually a dark omen. In any case, Madame Cloe of Frances deserves 5 star rating.
Funeral
This one is called Funeral. This is another self portrait of Victoria Frances. Her funerary Victorian dress looks really pretty. She is walking among the graveyards. I see bats approaching from the Castle. It is truly quite a solemn scene. 5 stars for this cute picture of Frances.
Wedding Veil
This one is called "Wedding Veil". The most you can see of this bride is her veil. She seems so sad... I think she is going to drown herself. Those white lotus combine well with the lilies of the bride. Lilies are a symbol of virginity. That frog is just a frog. 5 stars for this wonderful artwork of Victoria Frances.
Eternal Wedding
This maiden is a Vampire. I guess the eternal wedding that Frances is referring to is the wedding between this Vampire and her wisdom. This vampire maiden has a deathly pallor. The only color comes from her sensuous red lips. Is she sleeping? I think she is stuck... Vampires cannot cross running water. She has that cute Victorian profile on her black ribbon. She looks really pretty. 5 stars for this eternal wedding.
Red Impact
Red Impact...this maiden has been beaten up a lot. The background is red. I guess her wound is the red impact that Frances is referring to. Her mask is pretty neat. She has seized to cry and she is gazing down in anger. I really like this one a lot. Its quite realistic. She is not idealized like the other artworks of Frances. She is more down to earth, more accessible to our own experiences. In any case, this artwork of Victoria Frances deserves 5 star rating.
Ophelia Discovered
This one is another reference to Ophelia. I already mentioned her in my last blog. If you look closely you will recognize Arlene among this stagnant waste.
Here is the original Ophelia. I just added this one for comparison purposes. In any case, this one deserves 5 star rating.
The Dove Queen
This one is called The Dove Queen. There is a noble look about her gaze. She is not your typical queen. I really like this piece a lot. Most artist avoid the subject matter (which is such a pity). It is a mark of a true artist to handle the subject matter so skillfully. In any case, Victoria Frances deserves 5 stars for this piece.
Eternal Sadness
This one is another self portrait of Victoria Frances. She features herself in a lot of her artwork. She has the same funeral black dress. The mist is quite mysterious. Truly, she deserves 5 star rating.
This pretty maiden is called Anna. She looks really sad. She almost looks like she has tears of blood. The entire place looks dead and decayed. She kinda reminds me a bit of the girl from the "Wedding Veil". 5 stars for Victoria Frances.
Now this is quite the revision of Edward Munch's "The Scream". They are swirling like ghost out of the abyss. Pretty cool! I think this one is one of Frances old pieces. Early on she showed promise. 5 stars.
I like this sketch a lot. It is a preliminary drawing for " The Tribunal". She has suffered a terrible beating. I guess they want her to confess that she is a witch. 5 stars.
Ah... another long blog. We still have quite a ways to go. Its pretty cool the tears of blood of this angel. The red cross is a nice accessory. 5 stars for Victoria Frances.
River of Light
The only source of light is the strange maiden. She must be the "Light" of the river. It is quite the interesting play with the title. Judging by her laurel and her placement in the river, she must be a nymph. She is very pretty, 5 stars for Victoria Frances.
In this drawing, a maiden has just escaped from a castle. She seems quite upset. Perhaps she was engage to some 1000 year old jerk. That was pretty common back then. Her hood has quite the lovely patter. 5 stars.
Now this is one cute fairy maiden. Ah!! I wanna be done soon with this. Well you know the stuff... 5 stars for Victoria Frances.
Existence
Existence... I wonder. I guess she proves the existence of fairies. She looks quite wicked indeed. Well fairies are no different than nymphs or vampires. Once they tasted human blood, they cannot stop from desiring them. In any case, get ready for the advances of this blood thirsty fairy. 5 stars for her.
This one is one of Frances old drawings. Here a boy is lying dead in the snow. He's been lying there for a while. You can see it cause of all the know that's fallen on top of the comedy mask. Its a pretty grim xmas picture. In any case, another 5 stars.
Now this is quite the change of pace. Its really cool how the vampire chick is munching on the statue. This one is pretty original. 5 stars for Frances.
Here is the preliminary drawing of the Vampire x angel statue artwork. The conception is even spicier than the final work. Truly, a 5 star worthy drawing.
This one is an earlier version of the blue and red clowns we saw a few pictures back. Here we can get a few view of their costumes. Behind them, you can see the Venice channels and some gondolas (or row boats). The red Clown is dressed like a squid. The blue looks like an ocean. They compliment one another. Another, 5 stars for ,the great Dark Gothic artist, Victoria Frances.
Carmilla at the Masquerade
In the novel Carmilla, the vampire maiden was introduced at this public party. In public events, vampires did not require an invitation. So, in all public places ,raging from public schools to Congress, you can always find a vampire stoking about at night. Thus, be careful who you invite to your house in such public places. Just look, Carmilla has already eaten her fill. In any case, this pretty Vampire maiden deserves 5 star rating.
Angel of Light
Ain't that a real bummer? This angel does has a demonic aspect about him. His wings are fake and his light comes from a light bolt. Pretty ingenious arrangement when you think about it... 5 stars for the artist Frances.
More vampires stocking about. Victoria Frances male vampires are always so handsome. Just like that weird kid from Twilight. You know, that batman pose suits their kind rather well. I always thought it so epic looking to see vampires ripped bat like cape fluttering in the wind. In any case, this cutie deserves 5 star rating.
Ice Tears
Well, Victoria Frances has red a lot of the classical vampire depictions. They always made a lot of emphasis on their sensuous lips. This one's lips look kissable and bloody red with fresh new liquid. This one too seems to be weeping, however his expression is cold. Behind him one of the angel tomb stones is sobbing. I guess this vampire is trying to restrained his emotions (or maybe he had a really tasty feats that brought tears to his eyes). Either way, Victoria Frances has earned another 5 star rating.
Another one of Victoria Frances homeless pictures. The first one we saw was the dove queen. In this one,, we see a guy sleeping on the hard pavement. You can see some strange glaring graffiti eyes in the background. This is truly quite the depressing sight... 5 stars.
The Phantom of the Opera
This is the modern version of the Opera Ghost. She illustrated verbatim the OG from the movie. Unlike the original, O.G. has only one part of his face scarred. The rest was quite handsome. I can't blame them for abandoning the original conception of the Opera Ghost. The one from the book was ghastly... and old! I guess they wanted the young audience to identify with the new O.G. The old O.G. actually did feel like playing the organ. Plus, he had a human name, Eric. All these old monsters had human names. If I remember correctly Frankenstein monster was called Bruno. But enough of that, Victoria Frances O.G. deserves 5 star rating.
This time we have a dude looking at his own scars. I don't get it... whatever, 5 stars.
More vampires at the masquerades. See, vampires love parties. This one is more vicious than our usual vampires. He has super sharp nails. I wonder... he is not the wolf type of vampires. Its seems his powers lie on his claws and not on his fangs. There are weirdo vampires like that with underdeveloped canines. Still, that never stops them from drinking their fill. In any case, this wierdo deserves 5 star rating.
Ah... the Victorian Vampires are really something else. I do remember their kind having pointy ears. As for the hair, all vampires are super ancient. They only age when they stop feeding. If he is so young looking he must be eating often. The scenery is pretty gloomy... 5 stars for the last of Victoria Frances vampires for now.
Well, lest wrap things up. Here we see a young red joker. Such costume is common in masquerades. Frances seems to like the river scene. 5 stars.
I hope that you enjoyed this long super prolonged blog. I was half tempted to start deleting or moving pictures to make it shorter. Then I said to myself, whatever. It was a long ride but I published my first February blog. I hope that you enjoy this month a lot (specially St. Valentines day). So, Good day, Good night, you will be expecting me. Nyak, Nyak.
