Tsuritama New Anime Review
Today, I watched a new anime show called Tsuritama. The show started with the story of a five headed dragon terrorizing Japan. He brought large masses of smoke over the land. One day, a maiden came from the sky and she dissipated the darkness by smiling. It sounds cool, however, the story seemed like one of lil kids stories. In any case, this random beginning got me interested in the anime show. So yeah, in the first scene, a young boy was in the aquarium. A lil girl notices the strange triangle halo over his head. With his finger he was directing the movements of the fishes. He later goes to walk about and he meets some old people doing some weird martial art exercises. Oh, about his looks. The young man is a bit of a drifter. He travels about with his lil red taking fish.
The scene then changes to the main character Yuki. He is trying to introduce himself in his new school. He starts sweating and soon the room is filled with water. He feels himself drowning (not literary, this is all the workings of his imagination)... He leaves the classroom and soon feels himself recovering. He goes home and helps his grandma to pack up. His grandma is one of those hipster old women (like the Russian old dames). She knows modern tech and dresses up to date with the fashion. She works and maintains Yuki. As soon as they get inside the car, the presentation begins. In the presentation we see the road that Yuki and his grandma have traveled. I think she designs gardens (or something).
As they traveled, Yuki's car passed by the drifter. The drifter liked Yuki's red hair and thus tried to run after the car to see where he lived. When they settled in Yuki went to his new school. He tried to introduce himself and it went much better. The problem was that he got off his seat for no apparent reason. The entire crowd of students was drawn to his motions. Feeling himself drowning Yuki started to scream. Then the drifter (who had earlier spoken to Yuki's Grandma and gotten her to let him live with them) arrived. He introduced himself as Haru, the alien.
He had brought with him a fishing line. He started to lure Yuki toward him. This obviously made Yuki even more uncomsterable. Haru did not like the faces that Yuki was making so he shot him with his water gun. When Yuki came to, he noticed that he was going along with Haru's odd behavior. He wondered much about it. After school (under the influence of the water gun), Yuki went with Haru to a fishing store. In there there they meet the Fishing Prince (who was a moody kid from his class). He did not want to join Haru in his fishing, however, his watergun had other plans for the Prince.
Long Story short, Yuki almost caught a fish. He goes home imagining that he was going to forget the entire weirdness of the day. However, Haru's remark about being friends with him stayed in the back of his mind. He was both surprise and annoyed at discovering his new roommate, Haru. Haru chases him to the garden. He asks Yuki to help him save the world. You know, I forgot to mention this. Around the middle, some guys wearing mamelucans (weird hats worn with Arabs) where monitoring the movements of Haru. One of those wierdoes, had a talking goose with him. He was sitting on a chair and seemed to be giving out the orders. In any case, the episode ended by Yuki saying to himself," Who would have imagine that I would have helped Haru save the World". Overall, this anime show is either about fishing or smiling (or saving the world). In any case, this anime show deserves 5 star rating. A must see...
