Much ado about Luis Royo

 Luis Royo painting

Much  ado about Luis Royo

Luis Royo is a fantasy artist from Spain. Mostly he paints girls in strange places (like Medieval Times, the Future or Hell). Other times he creates his own unique robots. Most of his works appears in books or in his Heavy Metal Magazine publishing. He is still alive and well and creating new and more wonderful fantasy/sci fi/ post apocalyptic paintings. Here is a few of some of the best paintings made by Luis Royo. I hope you folks like a lot. In any case, the first painting shows a fairy ridding a black unicorn. Behind her we can see a winter tundra with a full moon in the background. In any case, this painting deserves 5 stars.

 Luis Royo Woman

The next painting shows a profile of the snake warrior Lady. She looks very cool looking down the cliff. In any case, this Luis Royo painting deserves 5 stars.

 Luis Royo hot

Another hot warrior maiden. Like the snake Lady this one has a cool looking sword. She is reclining next to a gravestone. Those scratches remind me a bit of Japanese mixed with runes. Runes are very popular in the Gothic world. They vary depending on location and usages. Some are magic runes, others dragon runes. They are all variations of the same thing. In any case, this Royo painting deserves 5 stars rating.

 Luis Royo fantasy

Another profile painting. This painting arranged of Royo shows a pretty rouge with a sword. Behind her we can see a palace that looks a bit Arabian. This Arabic like palace makes sense considering that Royo is from Spain. In Spain a lot of the medieval palaces where built by Muslim. For most of the feudal period, Spain was partly taken over by the Muslims. It took 800 years for the Spanish to defeat the Muslims. So a of the feudal castles have an Arabian look. In any case, this painting of Royo deserves 5 stars rating.

 Luis Royo tattoos

Another thing that Royo excels at is tattoo design. He created a series of books called Tattoos. There one could appraise a wonderful collection of hot girls with original tattoos. This albino girl belongs to that album. The lack of color in this picture helps the tattoos to stand out. Royo also makes golden other details of this painting to draw attention to the lips, the swords and the earnings. By controlling color, Royo makes the viewer focus in the areas that he desires.  This detail management has given Royo another 5 stars.

 Luis Royo dragon

Another lovely weapon. The placement of the restrains on the woman chest shows just enough to keep the viewer interested in her form. Behind her we can see a dragon. This combined with the sword, shows that this woman is not to be trifled with. She is a feme fatale, an amazone, a female warrior that will make pay anyone that stands in her way. Another 5 stars for Luis Royo.

 Luis Royo fantasy

This is version 2 of the previous painting. In this painting, this girl appears as a dragon slayer. Her blade silver blade has been colored crimson by the blood of the dragon. Killing dragon is no easy task, especially if you are not wearing armor. In her case, speed is the key. Dragon slaying usually involves elaborated preparations. Knights armed with dragon lances and shields made of dragon scales tackle the brunt force of the dragon. To take a dragon down with just a sword speaks well of her skills. In her case, speed and skills assured her victory not elaborate suits of dragon scales. Another interesting detail in this painting is the night sky. Knights usually fight dragons inside their caves to restrict the dragons' movements. This girl fought a dragon right in the open and was victorious. The details in this painting tell quite the interesting. For this reason, Luis Royo gets another 5 stars.

 Luis Royo art

There are a lot of fun memories attached to this painting. This painting gave me the hope to write this blog today. It reminded me that there are people who read my blog with blind faith in my veracity. In any case, when I was transferring the blogs over I happen to put this picture in the section of Victoria Frances. In time, my error became the truth. Now everyone thinks this painting was made by Victoria Frances. Well, I am here to amend my error.

OK, moving along. This painting also tells another interesting story. Judging by her attire, this girl is a female warrior. The gas mask implies that her world is toxic. By putting her rustic looks together with the advanced  face mask, it is safe to assume that she is from a post apocalyptic world. Another detail that I find interesting is the human skull background. It is as if death follows her wake. This post apocalyptic female warrior has earned Luis Royo another 5 stars.

 Luis Royo vampire

At first I was inclined to assume that this was a succubus maiden. However, the placement of the wings refuted this idea. Succubus usually have wings coming from the center of the spine. This girl however has them coming from her back. Behind her I can see bast exiting a hunted mansion. In addition, she has a choker. Female vampires like to hide with a choker the place where they where bitten. Needless to say, she is a vampire. Her lazy contemplative looks contribute to this idea.

Female vampires have a laid back indifferent attitude about their victims. Since they are women they are usually underestimate. Both their male and female victims always fall victim to their charms. They give a deceptive impression of passivity and weakness. However, should they be refused or put into a corner these female vampires became even  more vicius than their male counterparts. In any case, Luis Royo deserves 5 stars for his proper depiction of the female vampire.

 Luis Royo cyborg

Another strong and powerful female warrior. The details on her falling victim tell a lot about the fight. He has one main scratch across his chest that goes up to his neck. The female cyborg has only her right claw stained with blood. It was a one hit wonder that won and battle. The blow was quite recent judging by the fumes coming out of the wound in the armor. Her blow was strong enough to break a whole through the iron wall. In any case, this cyborg designed by Royo deserves 5 stars.

 Luis Royo futuristic

The next photo takes place inside a futuristic spaceship. Behind the open window we can see the earth. This spaceship seems to have just left orbit. Many of the characters in the background are gazing at the earth. Toward the left I can see running soldiers. The intensive gaze of the girl in foreground in combination to the stripes in her vest leads me to believe that she is the captain. The man next to her gazing toward the earth must be her first mate. This is one among the many battle spaceships. Luis Royo's futuristic warfare vision deserves 5 stars.

 Luis Royo love

This painting tells of the deadly romance between a wealthy powerful Japanese woman and a western man. Above then hands the sword of Damocles. This is an allusion to a Shakespeare play. In essence this sword symbolizes destruction. One is just waiting for it to strike. Behind the we can see a Japanese city. In the foreground, I can see entrance to a shrine. This maiden must belong to a family of Priest or must be priestess herself.  This painting of Royo deserves 5 stars rating.

 Luis Royo future

The following painting narrative tells the story of a female futuristic warrior. Behind her we can see the carnage of war. Toward the foreground the bodies are piling up. The entire sky is alight with flames of war. It seems that the soldiers in the background are trying to take that futuristic ziggurat (a type of Sumerian temple that aims to reach the Gods by rising higher i.e Tower of Babel). What I like best is her lightning spirit. I do not know what to make of it. Still it does look pretty cool. In any case, another 5 star for the great Fantasy artist Luis Royo.

 Luis Royo angel

Fallen angels are really popular in the fantasy world. This one seems simple enough. Her white garments allude to her previous heavenly form. However, her wings have become twisted and ugly. Soon her transformation will be completed. Her pose has a certain fragility about it. Such a pose contributes to the whole fallen angel depiction. Her hostile expression shows that her mind is that of a demon. Very little of her old self still remains. Royo's fallen angel deserves 5 stars rating.

 Luis Royo painting

Another fallen woman. This one is hiding in an alleyway. Toward the foreground I can see a dead body. She seems to be a survivor of a sick ET invasion. Around her I can see the eggs of these monsters. Hopefully they are not "Alien" eggs. I like the message in this painting. With the rising sun, one can see that there is still life amidst all this carnage. The girl seems to blend with the colors of the rising sun. Truly, this melancholic hopeful painting of Royo deserves 5 stars.

 Luis Royo demon

This is most remarkable. I get the impression that this maiden is the human form of the ugly demon in the background. Both do have the same silver eyes. Then again the masculine nature of this ugly demon might imply that he is her mate. Just look at how gently he strokes her hair. If he meant to hurt her he would have a more aggressive looks. Whether the demon is the girl or her mate is of lil consequence. It does not change the fact that this is one awesome painting of Luis Royo worthy of 5 stars.

 Luis Royo painting

The above painting portrays a summoning. This girl is calling an entire legion of spirits. Those cauldrons serve as wards to keep the evil spirits at bay. Whatever she is calling has not rear in his ugly face. Perhaps she is waiting for something bigger. Wards are usually in place to keep out unwanted visitors. With powerful summonings it is not unusual for other things to take the stage. The wards keep the summoner safe while she is spell casting. Judging by her numerous daggers she must be a necromancer. Aside from Bells, necromancers use rune weapons to fight off the dead. In any case, she must be calling something huge. This pretty necromancer/ summoner has earned Luis Royo another 5 stars.

 Luis Royo painting

The next painting shows a demon slayer grabbing a demon by the nose. She has his mouth wide open to receive her blade. Just look at her kill face. It is just as scary as that of the demon. Bellow them all hell is breaking lose. This painting is hot. There is so much lava all over the place. For this spicy painting, Luis Royo gets 5 stars.

 Luis Royo fantasy

The next painting shows a blonde, extremely beautiful female viking warrior. Her strange blue aura leads me to believe that she is of the lineage of the Valkyries (or perhaps one of their chosen heroes). Her helmet is made of an orc's skull. Orcs are a type of Norman mythological creature who are big and hungry. They most of them are usually beserkers (or warriors that fight using blind rage as a weapon). They come in two colors , red and green. The red ones are the worst. In any case, to wear the skull of one of these monster is a mark of terrible strenght and power. Anyhow, this female warrior of Luis Royo deserves 5 stars.

 Luis Royo art

This next Luis Royo painting is truly amassing. She has just set her sword down after a massive manslaughter. Just look at her pretty hands covered in blood... she is definitely not human. This fact is complimented by her slanted eyes. The nature and their coloring leads me to believe that she is a dragon in disguise. Demon maidens usually have red, golden or silver eyes. This maiden on the other hand, has golden mixed in with blue eyes. Such color combinations is akin only to dragons. In any case, this dragon lady deserves 5 stars

 Luis Royo art

This painting has quite the lovely cyborg. Behind her there is a super ugly cyborg. What I find interesting is how the male cyborgs' eyes glow in the dark. It glows with the same intensity as the claws of his mate. The contrast between light and darkness in this painting is amassing. The source of light comes from behind these two cyborgs. Both have earned Luis Royo 5 star rating.

 Luis Royo fantasy

This is another one of Royo's female warriors. Her blade is quite unique. Its design is based on the caduceus of Hermes (or the winged staff of the twin serpent gods of sleep and death). Its pretty neat how the serpent's tongue forms a mini point. The main handle is formed by two swirling serpents. Another interesting detail is her tears of blood. She must be suffering  lot due to the life she led. What I truly like best is her half curly hair swirling in the wind. It is super realistic. In any case, the lovely fantasy painting deserves 5 stars.

 Luis Royo art

The next painting shows a super cool looking female warrior. Based on her armor this maiden regularly kills monsters. Her sword is resting on the neck of a demon. Based on her pelt, she must be of the roman lineage. Her helmet is identical to those of the legionaries. However, her plate armor looks medieval. She must belong to the dark ages. Perhaps she is one of the few roman legionaries at Byzantium. Based on her leg wound, the battle was recent. Her blade glisters so beautifully with the blood of her enemies. This pretty painting of Luis Royo deserves 5 stars.

 Luis Royo art

The next painting shows another maiden with an incubus. Like her mate this girl has quite the wicked look. Her only covering is provided by the incubus. Oh another thing I forget. Incubus are usually confused with gargoyle (both do have similar looks) . The only difference them is that Incubus' horns are bigger than those of the Gargoyles. Gargoyles also only roam the church corner (they are the repentant demons). Incubus on the other hand are global menace.  This lovely incubus couple made by Royo gets another 5 stars.

 Luis Royo slave

The next painting shows a futurist slave girl. Based on her tears of blood life has not been easy for her. Also the bizarre spikes in her back along with the head an neck chain look mighty uncomfortable. She takes with her everywhere that torturing device. The dog chain has degraded her to the point of being just a mongrel for her owner. The careful placement of her chains dictate that she is a sex slave. This painting shows the tragedy of such a state. It is depressing that even today women like this still exist. In any case, this sad Luis Royo painting deserves 5 stars rating.

 Luis Royo tattoos

This next painting belongs to one of Luis Royo's Tattoos publications. As you can see this girl has quite the fancy tattoo. Above it we can see some fancy futuristic metallic decorations. In any case, this painting deserves 5 stars.

 Luis Royo art

The next painting is quite mysterious. Her jewelery is similar to those worn by Hindus women. The decorations in her right hand are very similar to the decorations that Hindus women wear on their wedding day. Her attire is modern looking. Yet, her hairstyle and her main tattoos are similar to the depiction of women in post apocalyptic worlds. Needless to say, she is a healthy mixture of both tradition, modernism and futurism. As for her elixir bottle, I do not know what to make of it. In any case, Royo's lovely painting deserves 5 stars.

 Luis Royo wallpaper

The next fantasy painting shows a pretty woman next to a giant Raven. the hand that is closets to the raven has three silver claws. Toward the foreground I can see part of the sword's hilt. She is one strange warrior maiden. Judging by the scratches in her dress she must have had some terrible battle. The ferocity of her look shows that she is down but not out. Heck, she has the same look as the eerie raven that is staring at us. On her forehead she has a tattoo of a buffalo skull. This skull is usually associated with death and mass extinctions. Taking all the visual elements as a whole it is easy to interpret that this is one dangerous woman.

 Luis Royo wallpaper

The next painting shows another dragon lady. Her eyes are identical to the dragon spirit that is emanating from her red claw. Dragon scales hang around her hair and necklace. The hilt of her sword is also made of dragon scales. She truly is one amassing dragon lady worthy of 5 stars.

 Luis Royo angel

The next painting shows a lovely angel of death walking over a marshland. In her hands she has a scythe. The angels of death depiction is derived from Jesus parable of the orchard. According to Jesus, both the good and the bad are missed together in the crop. God in his infinite mercy will let both grow together. In the end of days, his grim reapers will cut the crop and sort out the good from the bad. The bad will burn and the good will go to God. Royo's grim reaper follows this  similar pattern. Like the other grim reapers, this girl looks different from her other angel counterparts. Her wings are between demon wings and angel wings. In any case, this grim reaper deserves 5 stars.

 Luis Royo futuristic

The next painting shows a battle between some red super strong ETs vs some humans that look like Star Wars Clones. Royo used asymmetrical composition emphasize the red aliens over the humans. The have the biggest guns and weapons. This futurist painting deserves 5 star rating.

 Luis Royo futuristic

This next painting has a futuristic modern warfare arrangement about it. The tiger ET is dressed like a regular soldier of no denomination. In his belt he has traditional soldierly equipment. His ship has just crash landed on enemy territory. Two enemy ships has found the remnants of his ship. The entire scene at sunset looks really cool. Such color choice compliments the golden color of the tiger soldier. This lovely sci fi painting of Luis Royo deserves a nice 5 star rating.

 Royo Native Americans

Now this is quite the change of pace. The above painting shows a family of Native Americans walking across the winter tundra. Behind them I can see the Rocky mountains. The husband and wife do look quite lovely. Their attires goes well of what it is expected for Native Americans to wear. The baby come out pretty well. This goes to show that Luis Royo can paint something other than fantasy girls, cyborg maidens and dragon ladies. In any case, this painting gets 5 stars.

 Luis Royo wallpapers

The following painting is quite mysterious. I do now know what to make of it. Needless to say, the man is bound to a tree. A mysterious girl is approaching him. I have a strange feeling that this is not gonna end well. The storm that is building up spells tragedy. Anyhow, this Luis Royo painting deserves 5 stars.

 Luis Royo natives

The last native theme painting shows a young hunter gathering couple. The man has spear, while the woman has a bag to pick up herbs. The hunter is walking in front of his wife in a protective fashion. Meanwhile, the girl is looking around timidly. It seems that a wild beast has appeared. The forest scenery looks quite realistic. In any case, this lovely painting deserves 5 stars.

 Luis Royo natives

The second to last painting shows three travelers. The girl in the foreground is a warrior. She is both skilled with the sword and bow. Behind we see a strong burly berserk. The last guy is an assassin. His main weapon is a gun. Ah... that is all I have to say, I am almost done with this blog. I am gonna start shortening blogs in the near future. In any case, this Luis Royo painting gets 5 stars.

 Luis Royo art

The last painting is quite bizarre. This cyborg girl with a robot phoenix is dodging the attacks of this crystal squid. The entire scenery is surrounded by columns. The girl has just gotten hurt in the leg. I can see the blood in the floor. Another 5 stars for Luis  Royo. As you can see, Luis Royo is a jack of all trades. He can go from the sublime to the bizarre. His versatility and originality makes him quite the popular  fantasy artist. I hope you like the fun Incubus , grim reaper and vampire facts.
