Caidychen's Hakurei Reimu
This blog focuses on KD's depiction of Hakurei Reimu. Hakurei Reimu is the main character of the Touhou Game. Reimu along with her friend Kirisame Marisa, slays evil demons across the Touhou world. This game is arranged in a versus one on one fashion. One of Reimu's most memorable battles is the slaying of the Scarlet Devil (which is my fav touhou character). After this battle, (for a while) Reimu obtained a vampire form. Recently, there came out a Touhou anime show. It is set in the future were Reimu already has Marisa, Cirno and Ibuka Suika on her side. Now you know a lil bit of the Reimu's background. Now onto Caindychen's anime wallpapers.
In the first piece we see Reimu surrounded by lots of chibi version of herself. Chibi Reimu is among the most popular chibis out in the internet. The reason is that Reimu naturally is a serious character. However, her chibi forms puts life into her. For this reason, the Big Reimu has reserved emotions while her chibis are all over the place. As for the Red Cherry, its derived from a funk music band called Wild Cherry. All their albums featured a girl with 2 cherries. This iconography of a girl with two cherries is still very popular. In any case, this Reimu anime Wallpaper by KD deserves 5 stars.
Most of the touhou games begin with Reimu drinking Tea. For this reason, fan subs depict Reimu drinking tea. This is Caidychen's take on this popular trend. What is odd is the recipient that Reimu is using to drink tea. That is a Sake cup. Yet, behind her I can see the tea pot. This is a minor visual inconsistency. It makes me wonder whether she is drinking sake or tea. Anyhow, this anime wallpaper deserves 5 stars.
The next anime wallpaper is among the earliest works of Caidychen. The colors are quite common and in some areas poorly blended (mostly around the background area). Here we can see Caidychen experimenting with coloring techniques. Eventually, he develops his own style. For now, this blushing Reimu deserves 5 stars.
The next anime wallpaper is different from the others. It bears the resemblance of being painted by hand. However, the fireflies and the candle disproves the natural appearance. The line arts are definitely done by hand. However, the colors are all done via photoshop (mostly cause its cheaper). Anyhow, Reimu is wondering inside a cemetery. Since she is a priestess, it makes sense that she would dwell around these dreary localities. This pretty painting deserves 5 stars rating.
The next anime wallpaper shows Reimu looking epic. Her clothing has a lot of laces and bows. The wind suits it rather well. The flowery background looks quite wonderful. In any case, this Caidychen anime wallpaper deserves 5 stars.
The next wallpaper has grayish looking Reimu playing a flute. This is another popular depiction of a Miko priestesses. I am not too certain that Reimu plays the flute regularly. Still, she does look cute with it. Another, 5 star worthy.
The next Caindychen anime wallpaper shows Reimu playing the flute (again). This is an older depiction of Reimu. I can tell because the color style is unrefined. In addition, the perspective is a bit off. The roof looks oversimplified. This is truly an earlier drawing. In any case, this anime wallpaper deserves 5 stars.
Above we see Reimu with a lotus flower. This gives me a lot of food for though. The Lotus flower is a Buddhist symbol (it is the throne of enlightenment). Most priests in Japan were of Zen Buddhist denomination. They brought the Samurai tradition to Japan. However, the yin and yan signs is a Taoist symbol. I guess the touhou creator fussed Taoism with Buddhism. Anyhow, this anime wallpaper deserves 5 stars.
The next wallpaper has a previous Reimu depiction as a background. This could only be achieved through the power of photoshop. This tool has become the best friend of all mangaka artist. Drawing by hand has practically become obsolete (at least when it comes to putting color and shading). In any case, Reimu's blushing face is 5 star worthy.
In the last anime wallpaper, it seems that someone is asking for Reimu's hand in marriage. What makes me wonder is the placement of the ring. It is not in the ring finger. Then again it might be just a simple gift that Marisa "acquired" for Reimu. As we can see, Caidychen is a mangaka artist of many talents. Through his art we have seen the many faces of Reimu. For this reason, Caidychen is a 5 star worthy mangaka artist.
