Reptile Brain

I recently learned that humans have a reptile brain. This is the least evolved section of our mind. However, when logic fails the reptile brain takes over. This brains carries within it our animal instinct. It tells us that all is gonna be ok, even when catastrophe lies ahead. Ignore your reptile brain, it fools you. Even when you have all the answers, the reptile brains optimism will lead you in the wrong direction. This lil brain carries within it all our desires. It can easily overpower our reasonable more evolved brain.



 Sometimes (though not always) the reptile brain gives you this "gut" feeling. This is the primordial animal instinct that helped our monkey selves survive in the African jungles and Savannas. At other times, these "gut" feelings are simply imaginary. You see the reptile brains carries within it all our prejudices. So, be weary of those gut feelings you get from time to time.

Lets see, what else is there to say about our reptile brain. This brain also governs our anger. In the old days, humans were very territorial creatures. Then again, we still kinda are. Why do you think the law allows us to shoot and slay all trespassers? That is our reptile brain working its magic. Even if we feel remotely intruded upon, the reptile brain makes us extremely hostile.Then again, there would not be private property if we were not territorial.

In essence, the reptile brain carries our primordial survival instinct. It is useful if you live in the jungle. However, it is useless among "rational, civilized people". Whether you choose to follow your reptile brain is your decision. I simply warn you that it is not a good idea. Then again, most odds are that you will not take head.
