Ron Mueck's 5 star Worthy Sculptures
Today I am going to blog about Ron Mueck. I found out about this artist via an email that was sent to my mama. After I saw a sample of Mueck's work I decided that he was 5 star worth. Here is a lil Intel on Mueck. Mueck is an Australian Hyper realism artist. His sculptures are made mostly of Silicon. Silicon is a playable element that can be crafted into just about any shape. What is lovely about his work is not how realistic his sculptures are but the dimensions they have. For example that black mask above, is larger than you or I. The hair is done one strand at a time. However, the main body is done at once. He first makes a clay version and then he creates a cast for it to fill it with the materials. After the main body is done, he tend starts adding the hair and the clothing. Here we can enjoy the final results.
In any case, the first runner up is a white man mask. The shadow reveals its mask like shape. Look at that brow, man he looks angry. The colors look so real... 5 star for Mueck.
Following, I you can appraise two lil old woman. They say that old age shrinks you, but this is a bit too much!! As this photo reveals, Mueck Sculptures are really popular. The are always fun to look at.In any case, these two lil old ladies deserve 5 stars rating.
In the next photo we can see Meuck working on a sleeping couple. We can see Mueck's paint and chisels. Like I said before the colors are done by hand. The glasses that he has in his head are like two portable magnifying glasses. I think Mueck is putting the arm hair on the girl. In any case, for his dedication Mueck deserves 5 stars.
The next sculpture has a cute lil old lady sitting on top of a cloth. The way she has her hands crossed with her gaze toward the ground makes me think she is waiting for someone. Her face and looks are quite haggard. For all the fine attention to detail, Mueck gets another 5 stars.
The next sculpture is quite mysterious. Here we see a man covered in a cloth looking toward the right.
His eyes are bloodshot. The way he is looking around makes me think that he is a madman. Perhaps, he is waiting for an imaginary someone to enter. Perhaps "he" is already here. The cloth is 100% real. The fact that he is clean shaven implies that his insanity is quite recent. In any case, Ron Mueck gets 5 star rating.
It makes sense that Ron Mueck has helpers. After all, it must be time consuming to put all those hairs one by one. Since this figurine is going to be sitting down, his legs come already set for the chair. In any case, Ron Mueck at his workshop gets 5 stars.
The next sculpture is that of a boy crouching while looking behind. He has a scared look. Perhaps he is hiding from someone. It must be feel awesome to look at this sculpture in person. To look at him from all angles admiring all the details. As you can see, its impossible to find a photo of Mueck's sculpture without at least a crowd of admirers crowding around the piece. In any case, this boy deserves 5 stars.
This is another impressive sculpture. As you can see, there is a middle age woman lying on a bed. She looks very worried.
I wonder if her skin feels for real. I know that silicon bums feel for real, but I wonder about Mueck's sculpture. Then again one is not supposed to touch the work of the artist (which is such a pity).
Neat, Mueck is fixing her hair. Its a very neat idea. Who knows maybe now she has her hair curly. Its pretty neat how he can change the hair of his giant dolls (like regular person's hair) after the piece is done. In any case, this worrisome woman deserves 5 stars.
Oh woah! This redhead looks so real its scary. I like a lot her contemplative gaze. In any case, Ron Mueck gets another 5 stars.
The next sculpture features a sulky angel. His wings look so real. I think Mueck used real feathers for these angel wings. The stool makes the angel seem smaller than what he is. Its these plays with perspective and size that makes Mueck's sculptures so interesting and 5 star worthy.
The lat one is rather strange. The way this man has his hands forward reminds me of a monkey. This mini sculpture is so mysterious. I do not know that to make of it. Still it is 5 star worthy.
Ok , time to wrap things up. This is just a small sample of the great work of Ron Mueck. If you are interested, then I am happy two inform you of two more blogs coming up in the near future on this great hyper realist sculpture. I hope that you folks enjoyed reading about this 5 star artist.Tata, and good night.
