Sir Edward Poynter was a famous English painter and designer. He was knighted because of his awesome talents. He mostly painted classical realism paintings. In other words, he painted perfect historical scenes. He also made many prints of his paintings. He made his name in the Royal Academy. The first painting shows Israel in Egypt. In the background, we see the majesty of Egypt. In the foreground, we see the Israel slaves. This painting shows that Egypt owns its majesty to slave labor. This realistic historical painting deserves 5 stars rating.
This painting shows a group of maidens visiting Aesculapius. Aesculapius was the God of healing. He is currently performing his preliminary examinations. The dressed nymphs are Aesculapius's nurses. The scenery too is pretty realistic. This lovely mythological painting by Poynter deserves 5 stars rating.
