Anthony Sandys was a great Victorian painter. He painted in the Pre- Raphealite style. Those artists loved anything that came before Raphael. He learned painting from his father. He made historical and mythological paintings. He made his name in the Royal Society of Arts. The above painting shows Emma Jones. She was a proud actress. She was the painter's second wife.
